Steve is an engineering VP at Microsoft and I find a similar pattern is showing up for product managers.
I see lots of PMs who were already good now multiplying their impact with AI while weaker PMs are now using AI to generate work slop which is a waste of everyone’s time.

Tira de Laerte, em 5 quadrinhos. 1) Pessoa cabeluda e pessoa de chapéu, de costas, caminhando. A mulher diz: “Medo.” 2) A de chapéu diz: “Mediquê.” - a cabeluda diz: “Das coisa.” 3) A de chapéu diz: “Que coisa.” - a cabeluda diz: “Essas aí.” 4) A de chapéu diz: “Aí onde.” - a cabeluda diz: “Aí tudo.” 5) A de chapéu encerra: “Ah bom.”

I do not fear the rise of superintelligence.
I do, however, fear the rise of billionaires, organizations, and world powers who seek to use computing to maximize their power, influence, and control.

The dream: AI boosts productivity so much we all get 4-day workweeks.
The reality: AI productivity gains are an excuse for companies to cut staff or ask why you need a hire at all. No one’s handing out Fridays off because your job got easier, just more pressure to justify your existence
reddit post screenshot. what’s the point of vibe coding if i still have to pay a dev to fix it? what’s the point of vibe coding if at the end of the day i still gotta pay a dev to look at the code anyway. sure it feels kinda cool while i’m typing, like i’m in some flow state or whatever, but when stuff breaks it’s just dead weight. i cant vibe my way through debugging, i cant ship anything that actually matters, and then i’m back to square one pulling out my wallet for someone who actually knows what they’re doing. makes me think vibe coding is just roleplay for guys who want to feel like hackers without doing the hard part. am i missing something here or is it really just useless once you step outside the fantasy
you’re so close

Google Gemini’s head of product says PMs are ditching PRDs for vibe coding prototypes.
But PRDs define what you’re building and why, priorities, success metrics and its features while prototypes only show its features.
Skipping these is risky as teams may ship without clarity on goals or tradeoffs
Desculpa o rt mas eu tô rindo muito acho q vcs tbm vão
One trick I learned at Uber (where this got popular)
When writing an email that is longer than ~3 paragraphs / ~12 sentences: before sending, STOP
Re-read the whole thing
Add a new line to the top starting with tl;dr
Summarize the whole thing in one sentence
You're welcome
Live footage of me in today’s postmortem review where a developer described the behavior-changing code that they couldn’t be bothered to put behind a feature flag / experiment as a “refactoring” and everyone kicked off about how dangerous “refactorings” are
There's a big difference between launches and landings. A launch is when you merge all the code, close that final Jira ticket, and cut a new product release. A landing is when your customers pay for it.
Over-discussed: "use AI to vibe code an app/idea"
Under-discussed: "ship a product that customers love [because it solves a persistent pain point, is delightful to use, and just works]"
Without the latter outcome in mind, you're mostly wasting time with the former...
galera ainda não consegui vender meu ingresso pista premium pro show do my chemical romance pra quinta, e agora tô precisando muito pois perdi o emprego 🥺 vendo pelo preço de custo mesmo!

The loud drumbeat that companies should "embrace AI now or be left behind" has more in common with high-pressure sales techniques than biz strategy. And that's fine - tech firms have something to sell. But the rest of us needn’t confuse it with anything more profound. www.ft.com/content/4688...

Periodic reminder: before you start organizing stuff, throw away anything unused first. Works for code, clothes, tools, art supplies.
Something I hear very little talk about:
How AI coding tools are so much LESS useful when used on existing, large codebases at work (with custom frameworks, conventions, coding style etc)
... compared to doing greenfield/side projects
"Yeah I love it on my side projects, but at work it's 'meh'"
como que pode esse video existir puta que pariu
Imaginando aqui quais empresários brasileiros fariam algo parecido
You wouldn’t know it from hanging out with American Christians but the Bible condemns charging interest on loans more often and more harshly than homosexuality.
Have you ever heard an American Christian say credit cards or mortgages are an abomination in their religion?

This is an example of how nostalgia for the old days is simply nostalgia for when you were younger.
The idea that America was a post-racial society in the 1970s/1980s only makes sense if you were literally a child at that time and couldn’t observe what any adult was experiencing.
