Malört shots as refreshment stations along a 10K route would probably motivate me to do a 10K, actually. Running hurts. www.tiktok.com/t/ZTk5DRxmA/

Happy 30th anniversary, “Steamed Hams.” Here’s an Aurora Borealis for you. At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, isolated entirely to this post. You may see it. youtu.be/4jXEuIHY9ic?...

I loved this talk so much!
I’ve had the Journey Into Imagination with Figment tune with a Body Wars twist around “inflammation” stuck in my head for three days. Unrelated: I love this weather, my sinuses and allergies do not.
I’m singing this like the Bagel Bites jingle. Because “When protein’s in a liquid you can do protein any time.”

A 1960’s era Arby’s hat illuminated in neon reading “Arby’s Roast Beef Sandwich is Delicious.”
You know those beer ads that were cut into Star Wars? This morning my brain was like “Gondor calls for meats,” and instead of the beacon, it’s the big hat-shaped Arby’s sign.
That tracks. My experience was a 45 minute flight, and then old-school in-flight wifi that crapped out after 30 minutes on a cross-country.
For the better part of two years I've had a couple App Clip ideas in mind to make an app way more useful. The infrastructure is in place now. Let's cook!
The two flights I've had it on were absolutely magical. And then every subsequent flight hasn't and it's been maddening.
Would play the hell out of a Lil Finder + Little Big Planet mashup.
I can hear Kirby's "Haaaaaai" in this
Public appreciation post for @charliemchapman.com's excellent Framous app. There are *a lot* of screenshots getting made this week and I can't imagine going back to the old way.

So, like, .onAppIntentExecution{} doesn't work on a cold boot of the app, right? Curious how other folks have handled that.
It's three weeks until @deepdishswift.com! Who am I seeing there?
Unplanned productive weekend. Got an increased number of crash reports around images (that were originating on Wikipedia). Turns out, my (human) traffic in-app was looking like bots. 😑
Got a little image host up yesterday. Was working on Supabase integration, too. And uh...build submitted!
There’s windy and then there’s today, where if you’ve forgotten to zip up the jacket, you are absolutely paragliding.
Come get an MFA in Creative Writing at Missouri State! We are taking applications for this fall! Every admitted student will be offered a full teaching assistantship. Pick a track in fiction or poetry with other options. Work on @mooncitypress.bsky.social and @mooncityreview.bsky.social. Info below.
It’s been a lot of fun adapting this from a set of per-screen apps I started piecing together as I needed them last year.
Even *more* fun tackling this as a macOS-first experience and exploring some of the areas I just don’t run into on iOS.
The anniversaries screen of Showcased’s macOS app. A grid of team member headshots, titles, and start years are arranged in sections based on the month they joined.
The Awards tab highlights agency awards, three wins from PRWeek are shown as photo tiles.
The Showcased app icon is a recreation of the office showcase wall with two sets of three screens set on either side of a large center screen.
The Showcase Wall shown in Golin’s headquarter office.
The agency’s Showcase Wall at work is a lot of content to maintain, so I made an app for our internal teams. Showcased generates our monthly anniversary, MVP, awards and client welcome graphics all from a macOS/iOS app made with SwiftUI and SwiftData.
Lucked out. Where I got off the train it wasn’t even raining, no evidence of hail.
(I’m fine. I have leftover pizza, a hood, an umbrella, and can wait underground)
Me, four stops away from home on the train: “I hope I get off before it starts hailing.”
The weather, three stops from home: “Wanna see my impression of an ice machine?”
I feel like we've accepted the value of starting your design on the smallest screen possible (e.g. iPhone SE, or—better—watchOS), but I have learned/caught myself in so many things starting with the Mac first.
Starting to add iOS/iPadOS support to a macOS app I use to curate and export content for an eight-display Showcase Wall in our office today.
Got jazzed about using a SideBarAdaptableTabViewStyle for everything and then realized you can't set min or ideal widths. 😭
