@dpzollinger.bsky.social and I are thrilled "Cleavage Politics in Western Democracies" is out as an SI at @wepsocial.bsky.social!
Its papers explore the foundations of the cleavage pitting new left against radical right parties, and how it compares to the classic cleavages of Lipset & Rokkan:

Honoured to be part of the @psapolpsychology.bsky.social seminar and to present some *still-steaming* findings. See you there (registration link below), looking forward to a great discussion!
And don't miss the other fascinating talks in the autumn seminar series! ➡️ www.psa.ac.uk/specialist-g...
Abstract of the article "Unfolding GAL-TAN: the multi-dimensional nature of public opinion in Western Europe" by Anna-Sophie Kurella and Milena Rapp. Published online first in West European Politics.

@annakurella.bsky.social & @milenarapp.bsky.social show that public opinion on new cultural policy issues is not strongly aligned with preferences on traditional economic & moral policies.

Super happy to finally find this paper with @milenarapp.bsky.social on @thejop.bsky.social website! We analyze under what conditions far right parties benefit electorally from increasing importance of immigration issues/ green parties benefit from increasing importance of environmental issues.
Very happy to see my first solo-authored paper published! I show that pro-European voters are increasingly considering European issues in their voting decisions. However, they still do so to a much lesser extent than Eurosceptic voters. Open access available: link.springer.com/article/10.1...
Had a great time at #PSA2024 in Glasgow this week presenting an early version of a paper on survey cooperativeness in changing political environments. I also presented joint work with @milenarapp.bsky.social on how perceived voter-party environmental policy congruence affects voter attachment.
New paper, together with @milenarapp.bsky.social : We discuss how voter preference data can be combined with party position estimates from expert surveys or manifesto data, and provide a rescaling technique to improve the fit. Hope this is useful for many! www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
