Since it's both open and closed, the Strait of Hormuz should be renamed the Straight of Schrödinger.

If the opening scene of season 3 of #ThePitt isn't Dr. Robby riding across the desert with Baby Jane Doe in a sidecar, I'm going to be supremely disappointed.
The Supreme Court ruled that nobody is a U.S. citizen
Chief Justice Roberts stated “No person can be in this country. We all have to leave. Now.” The judges packed up their robes and are getting on a boat

What a totally normal headline
According to a Pew Research study, 39% of Americans believe humanity in ‘living in end times’
Coincidently, Trump’s current approval rating is 39%.
From Korea to Iran, the United States has employed countless euphemisms that not only obscure the true nature of its wars but also the constitutional limits designed to constrain them.
My latest for @reason.com.

From Korea to Iran, the United States has employed a colorful array of euphemisms to start wars. This deceptive language not only obscures the true nature of the wars but also the constitutional limits designed to constrain them.

Yesterday Trump said the war was almost over. Hegseth bragged about the largest attacks ever. This morning three tankers are burning in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump’s strategy is a failure of Epstein proportions.
trump can declare the war over.
but at this point, can’t stop this from happening.
Trump be like...
Trump admin: IT'S THE DEPARTMENT OF WAR NOW. WE ARE NOT AFRAID OF WAR. THE DAYS OF BITCH ASS DEMOCRATS WHO ARE AFRAID TO SAY WAR ARE OVER. ITS WAR YOU PUSSIES.
Also Trump admin: We are engaged in a limited military incursion with Iran-- something of an armed conflict or perhaps temporary operation.
OPINION: I asked a former Trump official to justify this war
So the case for Congress is, once we have gone to war, if they don’t like it, they can remove the money? Congress does not have a constitutional role in the declaration of war. Congress has a role in cutting off funds for wars, which it has threatened to do. And the president doesn’t have to get permission. But yes, you can debate, you can decide. That’s his choice in how he wants to do it. I mean, here I will quote the Constitution: “The Congress shall have power to declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water.”
Behold the intellectual might of the conservative legal movement
Euphemisms are lifting a heavy weight in war, don't they? When you destroy missiles on the ground before they lift off, that's an attack (pre-emptive, maybe, but still an attack) not a 'defensive airstrike'. Much like people killed aren't 'casualties' & innocents murdered aren't 'collateral damage'.
Cropped view of New York Times home page includes main topics ("Trump administration" "Mideast Conflict); an overall headline ("No Letup in Strikes in Iran, U.S. Says, as Mideast Crisis Widens") and the header of an article on the shooting down of an "Iranian Missile Heading to Turkish Airspace".
The @nytimes.com often correctly calls this a "war". Please do so consistently. Forget euphemisms like "crisis" or "conflict". If this isn't a "war", what is? Trump wanted a WAR Department, his gov't shouldn't mask the war he started. "War" exposes the other conflict: the one with our constitution.
Conservatives are always going on and on about "political correctness" and how those woke libs can never straightforwardly call a thing a thing, and then when it comes to war all they can talk in is goofy HR euphemisms
CNN put together a video illustrating that while Trump regime officials keep describing the Iran strikes as a "war," Republican members of Congress are using all sorts of euphemisms
DC folks actually sort of need to demand that heads roll over this. It’s a real problem if law enforcement in the capital is so pathetic, weak, and supine that their instinct is to act as stormtroopers for illicit federal power grabs.
Is this bad? It seems bad.
Donald J. Trump Y @realDonald Trump Short term oil prices, which will drop rapidly when the destruction of the Iran nuclear threat is over, is a very small price to pay for U.S.A., and World, Safety and Peace. ONLY FOOLS WOULD THINK DIFFERENTLY!President DJT 362 ReTruths 1.25k Likes 3/8/26, 6:54 PM
