All very fine and I’m passionately pro renewables but what about a sunny day when electricity demand is minimal? Are they able to store the surplus? And no worries about food security, then.

I can’t understand why - when Labour got elected, the first thing could have been to get rid of the two child cap. So symbolic! Okay they needed to call out the Tories on the economy but surely very first thing should have been to make a big Change. Rather than attack pensioners.

I was screaming at the screen as I watched this. How about, the water co’s massively fund the “regulator” , The Environment Agency, which instituted self reporting for them for pollution?

"the history of water regulation in this country is littered with plans, reviews, consultations and pledges. Is this another one that will end up down the pan? If so, you might eventually spot it in your local bathing water."

‘It’s nightmarish’: why 1.5m Britons are still hunting for a job. Well qualified and skilled as they are. Couldn’t be anything to do with levels of immigration when immigrants can be paid 20% less of course.

Chanceller on BBC today - planning holding up grid connections. Funny, I thought it was the grid itself lacking upgrade and development. Might make sense to invest in that.

I’m absolutely fed up with Labour whining on about what the last government mucked up - what is @teamlabouruk.bsky.social going to do to bring down migration?

Countries could use nature to ‘cheat’ on net zero targets, scientists warn By relying on natural carbon sinks such as forests and peatlands to offset emissions, governments can appear closer to goals than they actually are

Another reminder: offsetting is a con. We need to BOTH care for nature as a carbon store AND stop burning fossil fuels
