It does give a flicker of hope seeing so many die-hard right wingers finally throw in the towel on him. But boy I hope it speeds up. I see how this ends and I’d rather get the ugly end over with fast & work towards a better future than let this whole slow-mo train wreck drag on til I’m 40 😭

What’s the alternative though? The whole ‘We can’t strike them because they’ll strike back harder’ is what we’ve been going by for a long time and things have only gotten worse. We can’t keep living in fear like this. Something’s gotta give.

Honestly that’s less important than the immediate threat he poses to the country and the harm he inflicts every day he’s in office.

Also: no matter how he dies, from illness or other natural causes, magats will be convinced he was murdered and it was a cover up. Facts don’t matter to them.

Personally it baffles me that school shootings happen once a week, 132 people in the US die by suicide every day, but still nobody’s axed HIM?!? It’s THE ULTIMATE way to be remembered.

Ignoring the elephant in the room that never ever leaves. The tension in every casual conversation as everyone tries to either avoid it or crack a joke about it. How else do you get through the day?

Imagining our future in a world that does not exist anymore. I have these moments of clarity where I feel the full weight of reality and how fucked it is, and then I quickly pull the sheets back over my eyes and keep pretending. Keep doing my grocery shopping, loads of laundry, making dinner.

I don’t know if we will live through this. Every day we wake up and pretend. Pretend that the country isn’t disintegrating in real time. Pretend there isn’t an active worldwide extinction event ocurring. Pretend that we’re safe.

We go around distracting ourselves.

but our life is here. How could we leave our families? Our friends? Where do you even start trying to figure out HOW to leave?

when he got elected I told my partner that I draw the line in the sand when they take away my right to vote. truthfully, my line was him being elected, but I didn’t see that being a reality until it suddenly was.
