Not to think piece about this, but I think this says a lot on how some creatives are able to do work because their partner/family is able to support their lifestyle.

This says a lot of how little our society values some creative work, not a jab at Rama Duwaji.

Feminists began raising the alarm about the manosphere decades ago – and we were ignored | Laurie Penny We were told we couldn’t take a joke, and that social media isn’t real life. Now the misogyny of early chatrooms and Gamergate has made its way to the White House, says journalist and feminist activist Laurie Penny

A deadly bacterial disease is returning, doctors warn, as vaccination rates fall Hib once killed 1,000 children a year, permanently disabling many more. Doctors who've never seen the disease say the comeback is changing the way they practice medicine.

“The last night I was a pediatric resident, a child came in with Hib and promptly died by the next day. I didn’t work for 50 years to have everything destroyed by one man.”

-Dr. Kathryn Edwards, Vanderbilt University

there are a lot of problems with Roald Dahl but his short stories for adults are exactly this lol. finding the volume "kiss kiss" in high school at a secondhand store was more formative than I realized. it's essentially 50% "wives get revenge" and 50% "horrors of nature and science"

I recently read an article how much having mobility aids that suits your style can help empower you, the same way we choose different glasses frames

You can do so while supporting disabled, queer small business too like Bibi! She's currently looking to be able to make these canes!

In recent days, AMA communications to the New York Times have requested a correction on their part to reflect the actual language the AMA used in response to their inquiry. Additionally, a letter to the editor has been submitted requesting a public correction—this was neither a policy change nor was it an endorsement of a position taken by another medical society. In addition, during Congressional testimony in mid-March, I had the opportunity to set the record straight stating to the Subcommittee on Health of the House Energy and Commerce Committee that there has been no change in AMA policy with respect to access to and provision of gender-affirming care. This will appear in the Congressional Record.

The American Medical Association directly responds to New York Times coverage mischaracterizing their posiiton on gender affirming care for trans young people.

Precisely why I don’t find the ‘Stevie Wonder can actually see’ nonsense funny — because real disabled people are being erased from society and the historical record, and the ‘if he was blind he wouldn’t have been able to accomplish everything he accomplished’ subtext is so ugly in the wake of that

We desperately need your support to secure safe shelter.
