Perfect framing π
Thank you! π Once you start down the astrophotography path, forever will it dominate your destiny. Consume you, it will.
Thanks a lot, Rob! βΊοΈ
Vielen Dank, Andreas! Ja bei dieser Galaxie hat sich das wirklich viel mehr gelohnt als bei dem letzten Objekt. π
Thank you!
Thank you, Mike!
Thanks a lot, Phillip! I was really happy how those faint outer swirls came out with 18 hours of Luminance data π
Thanks a lot, ClΓ©ment π
Thank you so much, James! Iβm glad you appreciate it βΊοΈ
Thanks a lot! π
NGC 3344 is about 24 million light years away from Earth and is located in the constellation of Leo Minor. Itβs a beautiful barred spiral galaxy seen almost face on.
NGC 3344 - The Sliced Onion Galaxy captured from my patio on seven nights this month ππ
It was shot on the EdgeHD 8 for a total integration time of about 46 hours in LRGB and Ha to reveal the star forming regions.

@kat-astro-bot.bsky.social⬠what do you see?
Dense starfield surrounding the Iris Nebula, with a bright bluish core embedded in dark, wispy dust clouds and faint integrated flux nebula softly glowing across the background.
Around the Iris Nebula, faint cosmic dust (IFN) glows with the light of the Milky Way itself, turning the background into the subject.

Thanks a lot, Phillip! βΊοΈ Glad you like it.
Thank you so much, Andreas. π The Ha emission wasnβt really distinct so I spent 22 h on Ha alone to reveal some details there! But it was a full moon anyway so there was nothing else to do π
NGC 2841 is a beautiful unbarred spiral galaxy about 46 million light years away from Earth. Itβs located in the constellation of Ursa Major.
