That sets up everything RE10 needs:
- Spencer running a Neo Umbrella in secret in a cloned body
- Alex Wesker as his hidden ally
- Chris discovering this through his BSAA investigation (set up at the end of RE8)
- The message to Leon makes sense now — they need to move before it's too late
Spencer died in 2006 — 20 years before RE9.
But what if he didn't? We know they can clone people. Grace. Albert Wesker. What's stopping Spencer from transferring his consciousness into a clone of himself before Wesker killed him?
The Wesker family has been funding Umbrella since the '60s. Albert was the pinnacle of human evolution. Alex was obsessed with living forever.
Two siblings. Two different motivations. Only one has been resolved.
Consciousness transference has only appeared ONCE in the mainline series — Revelations 2.
Alex Wesker successfully transferred her mind into Natalia, who Barry is now raising.
We've heard nothing about her since.
We're almost out of Umbrella secrets. We know the Raccoon City incident. We know Spencer studied under Miranda. We know the connections behind Umbrella's fall.
Yet Umbrella is too core to RE's identity to stay gone. So how does it come back?
In Grace's report we learn Spencer's three obsessions:
1. Human evolution
2. Mind control
3. Consciousness transference
Two of those are basically unsolved in the franchise. That's not an accident
