When senior staffers beam down for a clothing-optional conference on Risa, the Cerritos is hit by pupitron rays, causing the junior staff to be turned into puppy versions of themselves.

Ensigns Karavitus and Moxy are getting married! Leading the ceremony, Captain Ransom is interrupted when a nearby blue star suddenly goes nova. The blue light bathes the Cerritos. Dr. T'Ana's medical scans show one of the brides is not who she says she is....
Captain Ransom organizes a celebratory dinner for a sect of Remans; he finds out they eat dessert as meals. Meanwhile, Rutherford has been tasked with installing holocameras at all major intersections on the ship--potentially impacting Mariner's off-the-clock dalliances.
A power outage in the Bussard ramscoop control room means Rutherford must describe all his actions to Tendi. Meanwhile, Boimler and Mariner compete in a 3D chess tournament as the ship's bar hosts a convention for Starfleet recruiters.
Richard Kind returns to voice a vengeful Doopler.
T’Lyn reprograms the replicator in an attempt to authenticate its Plomeek soup recipe only to have it spit out nothing but artisanal appetizers. Captain Ransom refuses to send Mariner to the brig despite her misbehavior.

Asif, Casey, Gary, and Mackler person the keel sensor suite during a long haul in a nebula. While there, each reveals their own role in an incident six years prior: the unsanctioned removal of the Cerritos' official clown.
Rutherford and Billups suddenly appear on the bridge, covered in goo. Their revelation: they've been living across microsecond time jumps since Mariner's holodeck in a holodeck in a holodeck had a warp core bubble breach.
Unbeknownst, the duo were present in a montage of personal crew moments.
When the Cerritos finds an abandoned egg on a deserted planet, Dr. Migleemo suspends his practice to sit on it. The crew collapses under the mental strain of a nearby anomaly that causes them to relive childhood trauma. Boimler confronts his irrational fear of bath time.
Captain Ransom’s frat brother boards the Cerritos and won’t stop pitching his cryptocurrency to the crew. Dr. T’Ana battles the biggest hairball of her life.
Rutherford and Billups are still missing, though no one, including T'Ana, seem to notice.
Season premiere: Boimler discovers a gray hair in his beard. Mariner has created a holodeck in a holodeck in a holodeck and can't find the way out. Tendi decides to find common ground between science and Orion religion, and T'Lyn will help.
Rutherford, T'Ana, and Billups are mysteriously missing.
