With health care becoming less accessible and affordable for people across the nation, the closure of this clinic would make it even more difficult for our veterans to get the care they need. I’ll keep urging local and national VA leadership to reverse this disastrous decision.

Our veterans have sacrificed so much, and the very least they deserve is access to the quality, affordable health care they’ve earned. That’s why I was proud to stand alongside members of our community today to fight back against the planned closure of the Schenectady VA clinic.

Last week, I was thrilled to be at Hudson Valley Community College to welcome Nobel Laureate Dr. Omar Yaghi back to our Capital Region! After arriving in Troy from Jordan as a teenager, Dr. Yaghi graduated from HVCC and UAlbany and went on to earn the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

This is ridiculous. The Senate passed a package with Democrat and Republican support that pays our TSA workers and addresses the disastrous situation at our airports.

But that’s what is happening right now under this administration. I joined my colleagues on the House floor to demand a stop to this cruelty.

Longtime 911 dispatcher, firefighter mourned in Montgomery County Rob Shang was part of the sheriff’s office for 27 years, officials said. He was also a firefighter in the county.

Heartbroken by the passing of Rob Shang. As a 911 dispatcher and firefighter, Rob spent his life protecting others and ensuring the safety of friends and strangers alike.

His kindness and commitment to his community will not be forgotten. My thoughts are with his family and all who loved him.
