The most charitable interpretation I can think of is that some people think that any use of generative AI represents such an egregious failure of ethics and/or risk assessment that anyone who does so can no longer be trusted. I was in a convo (on Mastodon) where someone pretty much said that.

Civility has always been optional for those who benefit from the systems, institutions, and policies upheld by the myth of white supremacy, but required from everyone else.
I've been thinking about how this hacker News comment applies to the way we feel about tech, regardless of our positions on broader political issues: news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4539... I'm politically a progressive, but prone to being a tech reactionary. But I know the past wasn't all better.
Just starting to play with Bluesky and #ATProto. Decided to establish my presence here the hard way: self-hosted PDS on my existing server with did:web rather than the de-facto centralized did:plc. For the latter, had help from atproto-did-web.lukeacl.com
