Took the bus back, waiting 20 minutes for the scheduled time, 2 minutes for late running, 41 minutes on the circuitous bus route, then 11 minutes walk home. Near enough to an hour and a quarter to travel <10km (point-to-point) while walking 10% of the distance. Great system.
Had a hospital appointment this morning. Nearest bus route (11 minutes walk away) offered the choice of being an hour early for the appointment or 7 minutes late.
Other routes are 18 minutes walk away (past what is physically comfortable ATM) and require a connection to reach the hospital.
