We are reading da nooz in bed, and thankful we are already lying down to laugh our asses off.
just saw someone call Kash Patel “J Edgar Boozer” and need to lie down
Photo of a sad orange cat in a carrier wearing a transparent plastic cone.
Cool orange kitty (with beat up ears from living on the street) looking healthy and happy indoors next to a plastic cat toy (the one that’s like a three level circular track with a ball on each level that they can push around and around…)
Good morning from Milo! (Say it back)
This former street kitty has big news!
1) He feels way better since people fixed the big wound in his neck, and wants to thank everybody who donated to Soft Side for his care!
2) He’s gonna be VIP cat for #PawjectRunway THIS FRIDAY at CFG Bank Arena!! 1/2
Interesting article about mainline Protestantism providing space for activism and resistance to authoritarianism (literally and figuratively).

Rode my trike 4 miles
Walked up and down the swimming pool a bunch of times to work my left leg, now I’m pooped and eating shawarma.

I just bought a new e-trike Saturday. It’s pedal assist, so it can’t kick in unless I’m pedaling. We have a problem here in the ‘burbs with kids under 16 years of age tooling around on e-bikes and e-scooters with motors powerful enough that no pedaling is needed.
Didn’t ride today, too cold and windy… but we did go to the commmunity pool. I just walk up and down in my lane to work on balance.
I was going to repost, but didn’t want to screwup the “666” reposts count. It’s perfect.
Actually, with the e-assist and really low gearing on the rear deraillure, I can pedal up hills. It’s not the kind of motor that can work without pedaling.
…until finally I took a (paid) driving road test arranged thru the outpatient rehab facility. My license was valid, and not flagged as reviked for medical reasons.
I plan on doing some errands and appointments on the trike, but the safest and least stressful routes are pretty indirect.
Also it detailed the “challenging” network of village/township/regional transit paratransit vans and their differing schedules for getting disabled folks and elders to appointments and grocery stores. I had to figure it out for myself after a stroke last year. I wasn’t driving for months…
My town produced a 240-page PDF/Power Point report on planned improvements to pedestrian/cyclist infrastructure that I stumbled across last night. Basically it seems like aspirational BS, because it lists projects and plans for sidepaths that have been “priority plans” for at least a decade.
Rode around the neighborhood after we got it home, but no video, and I screwed up my Strava file so didn’t log the miles ridden.
It was about 3/4 mile or so, sunny but cold. And BIG FUN
An orange Catrike All Road etrike
I tooled around the parking lot and it feels great. It’s tricky getting in and out, but the higher-up Villager model doesn’t have suspension, this one is the All Road with an electric motor.
I just picked up my new trike, will enjoy finding good routes. Balance issues also prevent me from riding my other bikes.
It’s good to be a cyclist again.
Catrike All Road e-trike ready for final fitting. It is the color of a ripe orange and makes me happy happy happy. Spouse is examining the tech
Rear view of Catrike All Road; 20” wheels, two up front, one behind. It has full suspension (elastomers and an air shock) for a smoother ride and a Bosch electric motor (250 watts, up to 20mph of e-assist) And I even like the color
My new ride! Fitting all set, cleats adjusted, rode around the parking lot.
Toilet paper holder in bike shop has a mountain bike fork and two bottle cages but only one roll of TP mounted on fork (it’s upside down, base is a front gear cage
This bike/trike shop understands my needs.

Today is the 251st anniversary of Paul Revere's midnight ride to warn the Minutemen of approaching British troops.
I want to take a moment to share an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence's grievances against King George III.
Remind you of anyone?
I graduated from there 50 (YIKES) years ago. Parking lot and tennis court will replace the horseshoe pits.
