Antidiabetic Medication and Asthma Attacks This cohort study examines the association of treatment with metformin and add-on antidiabetic medications with asthma attacks.

We found in 2 studies (cohort & self-controlled case series) that metformin (cheap, available, oral) associated with c.30% lower asthma attacks. Adding GLP-1 had 40% further effect. This was NOT from better glycaemic control/weight loss. Seen in T2 low & high asthma.
