Good analysis from @mrjamesob.bsky.social (LBC Radio) on the current state of play with Ukraine after Trump blamed Ukraine for being invaded.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my first term working for ACT Multi Academy Trust and getting to know our schools, staff, and communities. It’s been inspiring to see the dedication and passion across the Trust.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 💫🎄

Cromwell to his accusors, "You’ll read the lines as written, but you’ll never read between them."

What a line from #wolfhall and a simply mesmerising trial scene undertaken by actors at the top of their game.

Utterly brilliant performance. Better than I even anticipated. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m glad they didn’t show the full brutality of his beheading like they did the others…. It took three blows of the axe by ‘the 'ragged and butcherly' executioner to sever his head. 😳

Recently discovered the @schoolsweek.bsky.social podcast. Superb! Two that I’ve enjoyed so far:
1) This interview with Bridget Phillipson and @fcdwhittaker.bsky.social is really thoughtful and interesting. I particularly enjoyed the sections on teacher recruitment and SEND.

Love this blog from @ianfrost28.bsky.social. Important reflections on the power and importance of small schools, and how we can maximize their potential.

This is an important analysis of alignment in a school or trust. Too much of the discourse on this topic positions it as simply a matter of arbitrary control - no more than some sort of expression of power. This video reveals there may well be much more to it. 1/2

Completely agree!

Very true! But Gregory only outlived him by 11 years, and he was far less interesting or appealing (in my mind!)

Couldn’t agree more! Loving it so much!
Ps. I’d have been disappointed if I were Bess. Would have married Cromwell, no question. He is SO awesome in every way. I’m going to cry like a baby on December 15th!

Regional chief: 'Big trusts wanted to ignore small schools' DfE regions group 'pushed back' against obstinate CEOs to make sure small schools were 'looked after'

So… #Gladiator2 … bit like a tribute band imo! Entertaining but nowhere near the original. Denzel steals the show as a top-tier villain, but the film feels like it threw gladiators, emperors, and a CGI rhino into a pot and hit “stir.” Worth a watch, but Maximus would not be impressed. Thoughts?

Wow. Imagine the shock for the Daily Mail when it finds out Tory plans were for fines of £5k - later reduced to £3k - for each missed heat pump sale. What Ed Miliband has done is to reduce that to £500. As @torstenbell.bsky.social says today Headline should read “Miliband slashes Tory boiler tax”

Important context here:

● over half of farms are less than 49 acres (20 hectares)

● "a big farm" is 217 acres.

Now let's see who's angry:

● Clarkson farm is 1,000 acres
● Lloyd Webber farms 4,000 acres
● Viscount Rothermere (Mail owner) 4,700 acres
● Dyson owns 36,000 acres

Agreed. In my former role as HMI, I was always impressed by how OIs managed to balance the demands of their roles as headteachers or CEOs—alongside all the pressures—while conducting inspections. I used to really feel for them having to go into their own settings the next day.

It’s been a long time since I’ve started from scratch on social media! 🤯
I’m a 43 year old mum of 2, currently DoE for a small trust. Former headteacher across three very different schools, & a 1 year stint as HMI. (but don’t hold that against me!) Love comedy, politics, film & photography. 😊
