Did my artist statement for my next show after many hours of gnashing teeth, wishing I was the kind of gay artist who was like, I like boys, boys are cute, here are some boys who I think are cute. Instead Im trying to unpack religious trauma and my negligent conservative father and how boys are cute

1000% agree. I think the art world is esp out of whack bcus even when people say they want it to change, it’s clear theres no consensus. Like you can be Kline, have a whole show about the disintegration of workers autonomy and the environment at the Whitney and still want that work to happen for you

Josh Kline is going to Josh Kline (and I agree it’s good)

My next show is in about a month and of course it doesn’t matter that I’ve been working on these paintings since last September, it’s still going to all come together at the last possible second

Life is strange and hard and I rarely feel like I have words to talk online anymore but I finally have a studio outside of my apartment and it’s been the best decision

Can’t recommend Drowning By Numbers and A Zed and Two Naughts enough by Greenaway. A little nonsensical but each frame is just a feast. And same, loveee Binoche. I was also going to recommend Bad Blood, an early B

Have you ever seen a Peter Greenaway movie? Also I saw The Taste of Things in the Fall which is gorgeous and very French
