For us the religious element came in with all of the students who “died” throughout the first day having to spend the night away from home and they usually all stayed at one of the churches in town.

Oh yeah, my high school did the “Every Fifteen Minutes” program over two days. The first was the popular kids getting pulled out of class by a grim reaper and a recreation of an accident with students and parents as actors. The second day was a big funeral and trial of the drivers getting sentenced
