Twitter ceo Linda Yaccarino doing some desperate PR: On Twitter, everyone's voice matters.
Whether you’re here to watch history unfold, discover REAL-TIME information all over the world, share your opinions, or learn about others -- on Twitter YOU can be real.
YOU built the Twitter community. 🙏👏 And that's irreplaceable. This is your public square.
We're often imitated -- but the Twitter community can never be duplicated.
They made it very clear twitter was a nazi bar and now they’re terrified that people don’t want to hang out there anymore

We don’t know what or how much he pledged on the debt. It could cause some sort of cascade on his other holdings.

Boosting both because it’s useful and also to see if this site is still free from MAGA/QAnon/Antivax influencers and trolls.

This Fall’s COVID-19 Vaccine Will Target Omicron XBB Subvariants—Who Needs to Get It?
This Medical News story discusses the updated COVID-19 vaccines expected in the US this fall.
Today a friend asked what's up with COVID vaccines.
In short, there's a new version coming this fall that targets the now-prevalent XBB.1.5 strain. My guess is that this will be made available to all US adults. I will be getting it if so.

The good news for the lenders is that they are probably only lending in pretend money as well.

Sadly, being able to parallel park on a wide open street was the final boss of getting a CDL, and I believe it’s only gotten worse from there. I would support merging onto the 110 South North of Downtown as an absolute requirement, along with navigating the 6 way stops in Beverly Hills.

One of the Twitter Files clowns asked me in an interview what the biggest problem with social media is. My answer was very simple: unaccountable private power.
He chose not to print the interview.
It is not a public square. That metaphor deceives the public into thinking it controls the space.

I assume it varies by country/city—but plenty of the people (at least in the US) turning to podcast bros could have reached a doctor or pediatrician within the week if not the same day— instead they fell into conspiracy theory cults where they enjoyed believing they were smarter than their doctors.

Yeah, but presumably she’s got some serious psychological baggage if she’s that spectacular and still willing to put up with Elon on a regular basis.

Many of these people would have a hard time even digesting an abstract on the mRNA studies, let alone the full paper. The cardinal sin is trusting randos on the internet (or MMA fighters) selling you deworming meds instead of your doctor, public health researchers, or the FDA.

One of the main things I learned in the Trump era was that a surprising number of people prefer to be told comforting lies (including ones that will kill them) instead of confronting uncomfortable truths.

Go to the sidebar in your BlueSky account and select "Settings."
Once in Settings, scroll to the Advanced section and select "Home Feed Preferences."
See where it says "Show replies" ? There's a slider allowing you to adjust how many likes a reply must have to be shown in your feed. It's set to 2 by default.
If you slide that slider all the way to the left, the text above it will change to "Show all replies." Now you will see all the replies!
ALSO for the new folks: do you like threads? Do you want to see people's replies? By default, you don't see people's replies here until they have a couple of likes. To change that, follow these steps.

It’s not going to have any equity value, at least not until it comes out of bankruptcy. Sadly, I doubt Morgan Stanley will want to keep it for itself.

I think Mastodon had a lot of promise there—unfortunately the major voices on social media (at least in 80% of the circles I care about) decided it was too hard. So here we are on another Jack Dorsey platform.

I think this suggests that Jack was probably a Trump voter (we knew Elon was a Trump 2020 voter). 🤢
I don’t know why the right wing power brokers haven’t figured out that RFK pulls at least 5 votes from Trump as he does from Biden.
