Light is better than dark. Sometimes War Diary magazine will use very dark background pictures. Of course, a background picture is much worse than a background colour or pattern.
Me too. When I do an unboxing I praise the matte books and am mute on glossy. But I let loose the most on any rulebook that has a “background” under the text.
It’s 24 for me to get to San Diego. Great time to listen to podcasts.

Drive! Minneapolis (not sure where you live so just picking Minny) to Vancouver is only 2 hours longer than my Calgary to San Diego drive. And I must be 20 years older than you!

I never wanted kids.
But then I thought, what if the supply of white labor wasn't big enough for oligarchs to deport all of the brown people?

AI is profoundly unpopular. A recent NBC News poll found that among 18-34 year-olds, AI's net favorability rating is -44. *Negative 44*. Those are basically serial killer numbers. It's not much better among women 18-49. (Men over 50 and upper class are the only ones who like AI, and just barely.)

This "At a glance" style is a great idea. Smart idea.

Fuck this shit, Mr. Prime Minister, sir.
Thank you, Hungary.
Count on Eric Lee Smith. I had that game years ago when it was new, but I wasn't an ACW gamer then and I didn't end up keeping it. I bought it around the same time as Ambush. I remember feeling more engaged with both of those than the endless charts of B17 Queen of the Skies
A bunch of loser dork billionaires built a machine that tells them everything they do is cool
Thanks! It was a fun topic.
@drcrossbows.bsky.social You will enjoy this short piece
Insult? Sounds great.
I also enjoyed learning about a bit of history that was new to me. I had read a bit about sea battles between them, but not this.
Sorry, Kevin, I did not read that anywhere in the press release I received. Rereading it, I see the mention of not wanting to make people buy the game again. But I didn't see that it was in any way restricted. I took the notice off my website and won't mention it on tomorrow night's livestream.

Castelnuovo 1359 Unboxing
I previously reviewed this game's mechanics using a pre-production version. That was pretty nice, but wait until you see this map. Check out this game on an invasion by Barbarossa and the Ottomans, besieging a Spanish fortress.
Crimes against humanity. Over, and over again. Universities, museums, health centres, schools... These are not (obviously) military targets. These are nothing to do with uranium enrichment. The destruction of community, academic, and cultural hubs will not bring about regime change.
