Coachella is trying to wipe all of the footage of The Strokes protest set so I’m gonna post it here. The last images on the screen made me cry.

An extremely handsome seagull sitting on a notice board in a short jetty under a blue sky. A red life ring is hung at the end of the jetty in grey metal railings. The sea is out exposing brown sands.
Behold please this magnificent beast. If this were romantasy and not Aberystwyth, he would be called Vork. I am in love! Oh no my eyeballs are melting in the face of his beauty
What do you get if you cross an angry sheep with a angry cow?

Van Gogh's painting of cows in a field. The sky is a weird yellowy green colour, there is a crow in the distance and five cows in the field.

Image unrelated, I just really like Van Gogh's painting of cows

After a slew of stormy days Aber is calm and golden again
“Woman yelling at a cat” is an Internet meme. It juxtaposes two images: on the left, a screen capture of "Malibu Beach Party from Hell", an episode from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, depicting cast member Taylor Armstrong crying and pointing (held back by Kyle Richards); and on the right, a picture uploaded to Tumblr in June 2018, depicting a white cat from Ottawa, Ontario, Smudge, sitting at a dinner table behind a salad with a seemingly bemused expression. This version has been edited to superimpose trumps angry screaming face over Taylor’s and the cat has been given a white pope mitre with a gold cross design.

I have no connection to this except for being a fan and living in/loving North Shields, but fabulous photographer Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen currently has a Kickstarter for a new edition of her 1989 book Step by Step, which traces the lives of mothers & daughters from a dance school in North Shields.
You are not too much. You are ‘baroque ceiling with extra cherubs’ levels of drama.

Cover of book with text in yellow reading: The Firearm Revolution: From Renaissance Italy to the European Empires, overlaid on an image of an angel in seventeenth-century dress with wings and a long gun.
Hello Bluesky! My new book, THE FIREARM REVOLUTION, is out on 14 April. It’s about how a new technology changed society, and how hard it was to control. Here’s a little thread of what’s inside:
A child’s drawing of a hand and cat. Above is written ¡Porque mi siento mal por estar aquí! Mal porque no porque no puedo ver a mi mascota Willi y no puedo comer lo que quiera y no poder ver an mis amigos de la escuela y en casa (“Why I feel bad being here! Bad because I can’t because I can’t see my pet willi and I can’t eat what I want and I can’t see my friends from school and at home.”) Source: ProPublica https://www.propublica.org/article/dilley-detention-center-kids-art-removal
For months, I've been trying to send letters and cards to children in Dilley Family Detention Center. I have artists and designers ready to help! I met many kind clergy, journalists, and staffers, but it seems lawyers are the best shot. Do you know a lawyer who has advice or ideas? DMs open #lawsky
An aerial view of part of the Uni of Liverpool campus in the 1960s, showing demolitions and new buildings.
Do you know of someone who might be interested in doing a #PhD on the urban, architectural and environmental history of the University of Liverpool?
If so could you point them in my direction?
Early modernists! I just want to check the truth of horses being banned from the playhouse stage as per Lawrence (1927), Levin (1946), Watson (1983)... Any revisions to this history? @callanjd.bsky.social, @andykesson.bsky.social eg?
