[It wasn't a nervous moment for you, right?]
Ye: No, it was more of a release, and I was, like, wow, they really enjoyed this, and wow, we made it. And then I could hear [Hannah] was starting to cry as well. So it was really very emotional.

so it just felt so fulfilling and I really feel like that was a moment. I really lift everything through that.

Ye on the final lift: [to Hannah] At that point, I just remember when I lifted you up, I would normally be looking at your head but I was really looking at the crowd and seeing how it was full. It's so high, I just didn't realize there were so many people up there as well

I kind of put myself a little in that situation. It almost felt super personal at that point. As it finished and when we let go, it just felt like such a big rush of emotions

On being emotional after finishing the free dance
Hannah: I was actually crying. It's a mix of a lot of things, like being able to perform it. And really living the emotion of the character I threw myself into the character more than I did ever so I was really feeling what she felt

draw bigger patterns, deeper edges, more flow. I think that's the main thing for us. Because I think we got the interpretation down pat.
Ye: For sure, skating skills is one of our weaker points. We have to work on that still.

and the uncertainty, with the different arenas the different huge crowd, and your spatial awareness gets all turned off, so I think that's something that we need to train more - alongside mental prep and enhancing our skating skills in terms of being able to take up more of the ice and

I think just drilling in consistency is going to be the main part at least.
Hannah: For twizzles, you could say it's kind of like a jump in a way where it's like, you could always nail it perfectly in practice, and it's just in competition that you mess it up because of all the stress

But really, this season, especially since the Olympics, I really learned the importance of mental health. The pressure we put on top of ourselves and how to manage all of that was super educational for me, the past 3-4 years, so I think the mental prep will be very important. And yes, twizzles and.

On skills they will work on this upcoming season
Ye: For me, it's going to be my twizzle. And mental preparation, for sure. I've found out this season, especially, that it's very important. I used to not put too much importance on it. I felt like I was strong, I could do it.

On goals if they make the next Olympic cycle: We want to qualify for free dance next time and maybe do even better for scores. But we'll see when we get there, our main goal would be to really try to go back there together.

Hannah Lim / Ye Quan ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท [108.99]: Being in Milan was super difficult, so we tried to surround ourselves with people, and we really used it as fuel to keep training. We started to do exercises and strategies and on off the ice. We also worked with a sports performance coach.

but it didn't really land with where we were at in our career. I think this is authentic to us. It meshed with us at the time and also like our styles of skating. I think we'll probably stick with like a similar style

Do you feel like this free dance sparked growth for you?
Holly: For sure. I think this was our first free dance that like really clicked. The one before was like very explorative with the mermaid and the sea creatures. I loved that program so much

Holly: It's collaborative. We'll just spend a whole hour on one transition just to make sure that it fits with us. I'm really excited to see what we can come up with. Especially how we are right now because we're not the same people we were two years ago. So I feel like that'll be really exciting.

Would you guys think about working with Jean-Luc Baker again on the free dance?
Holly: It's something you're considering.
Jason: The choreography process with him has been so fun. He values how we feel and what inspires us as well.

Are you doing anything to relax?
Holly: We'll train for two weeks and then we'll go back to Australia for a couple of things. I'm just waiting for the nice weather to come to Montreal. And then I'll finally be happy. Sometimes they have some nice days even in winter.

Holly: Oh!? I didn't know that. Anthony will be excited. He can get tips from the pro. He has a little bit of an edge there.

When you create a kind of a pattern for yourself, you kind of choose and pick something that flatters you or what feels good for you. I think when you have exactly the same timing and the same steps, that just pushes you. And it is created by like really great skaters like Ponomarenko.

I think I'm going to be like regretting saying that halfway through. This is me not having tried it yet!

Some skaters have said that it's going to make them into better skaters. Why is that?
Jason: I think when there's a prescribed steps, you kind of have to do them well.

What do you think about the waltz?
Holly: I'm really excited. I'm excited. It looks hard, but I've heard it's fun. I'm really excited to learn it. And I miss doing pattern dances, I think. So it's going to be like a nice new challenge and something really to work on. I mean, I said the other day

Usually we'd have a playlist going by Worlds but this season, especially after the Olympics...
Holly: He mentioned one idea on a whim and I was like, oh! So I've saved that. But I don't know if it's even an option. So that's for the rhythm dance. Then free, that's going to be this week's mission.

I think the end, I was like, okay stay more in the present and soak it up. It feels like the end of two seasons with this program.

Next season:
Holly: We have one idea for the rhythm dance but we haven't explored it at all.
Jason: The season has been like so crazy. Going from one thing to another.

I wouldn't say I enjoyed it as much as the Olympics. I think during the Olympics, I was like looking up and having so much fun. I think today, there were moments where I had that, but it was more like I had to really like push through and fight through the program. It was still an enjoyable skate

Holly: It definitely feels like the field is really like positive and supportive and kind. It never feels like a bad environment. It does really feel like supportive.

Talk us through your feelings through the free?
Holly: I think today was definitely a bit of like a push.

but I think everybody skates their best. Yesterday I was telling Benji when they finished, seeing them so happy after their short dance, especially after the Olympics, I was so happy for them. It was kind of a redemption moment for them. I think was like a really happy moment.

Jason: Spending this whole week with all the teams has been really great because I feel like the culture has shifted a little bit within the ice dance world where everybody's just really supportive of each other. You really want the best for each other. Obviously competition is competition

you're really hard on yourself and constantly striving for more. So I kind of like convinced myself, like, maybe I'm not actually good meanwhile I'm literally competing in the Olympics [laughs] I think it's just a big learning lesson for us. You know what? We deserve to be here. Own it.

3 weeks ago 0 0 1 0

How much confidence has this season given you?
Holly: I think it's given us a lot of confidence. I think coming into this competition, I finally felt like worthy, I guess? And it's not even just being worthy. It's when you're a perfectionist

3 weeks ago 0 0 1 0

Peak moment?
Jason: The Olympics were okay ๐Ÿ˜‚ Qualifying for the Olympics and knowing that we we finally qualified.
Holly: That was a career highlight. It's just super emotional. All that hard work from the disappointment from Worlds up until that point, it just all came together
