Ah, that sucks and that's totally understandable! I think some of my friends might have been insulated a bit being in a college town. I support Grand Rapids

The fun part about dipping my toe into the custodes is that a 2000pt army will only be like 20 infantry models rather than like 55

We must all cheer for Brighton to hold on strong in this second half

Have been building some custodes to put together a lil (anti-)heresy force. The new plastic sentinel and guardian sodalities are pretty fun to build! Only really fussy part is the small contact points joining the helmets to their plumes

Michigan J Frog, Kermit, Jimmy, and a giant frog wearing an orange sweater that I don't recognize are walking down the street, towards a club named "Fly". Iggy and Heathcliff watch the group pass, and Iggy says "Boys night out for Jimmy."

Literally nobody feels decision fatigue less than someone whose every whim is catered to by someone else and if they don't like whatever their decision brings them, someone else makes it disappear

people keep talking about "ipods" and whatever as the apple product they'd greenlight but I stand by this, the phone/airpod/watch charger that causes fires.

they also, notably, typically weren't very good WITH a lot of the guys they've lost

The kits in question definitely do have some fiddly bits, which I get can be annoying! I agree that some of the contact points are small and fragile. But a lot of the complaints in the one I'm reading rn are "I thought I would just mix and match pieces from different poses, and it didn't work"

Congratulations, Gita! This is exciting! Best of luck finishing it and getting it released :)

I have fun reading reviews of Warhammer kits where a bunch of a person's complaints about the models/assembly amount to "I didn't read the instructions and it's Games Workshop's fault"

What I Found Sorting Through 1,200 T-Shirts My Son Left Behind | Defector I took the D-shirt challenge, knowing it would be an emotional rollercoaster through weepy terrain. There was some sun overhead though, and some smiles to cut through the cold reality that I had to do...

This is a really wonderful piece by Dan McQuade's dad, Drew. It's sweet, emotional and fun. [gift link] defector.com/what-i-found...

Even for those of us in academic programs who were clearly going to go to university, Suncor literally paid to take our classes up to Fort Mac to learn all about how we could be petrochemical engineers

hell when you've stopped playing it and it's been longer than a month of not going back to it, you're done with it. just redownload it later, you're fine

Yeah idk! Alberta is unique because a generation of high-school kids were told in every part of their lives that they could just go up to Fort Mac & make $200K, why get an education, so my adult life has been filled with sprawling exurbs filled with guys with $75K pickups, RN wives & coke problems.

There is definitely a lot of that here too! I think for a lot of those rig guys it's about flashing money, and coke = money

It's funny because I both super understand this archetye but my experience with young dingdong cokeheads here in Edmonton was almost exclusively rig pigs and tradesmen lmao.

It was wild! It was EVERYWHERE. And even now, my wife will get reels or tiktoks from younger gen girlies who wear little coke spoon necklaces and talk about the little bumps they take to make it through the workday. It's not great!!

Truth be told, other than stupid shit like "chip butties" I like a lot of English food! That's not my issue with the nation (all the murder). But it's mostly funny to rip on that stuff because they get so upset. Take it to Spoons, ya blighters
