Many students who self-identified as conservative said they had found a real home at Yale, both in the classroom and beyond. But they also said there were classes and communities at Yale where they felt their perspectives were not welcomed or respected. We heard similar concerns from alumni.

It's also interesting that the only group of students and alums singled out ideologically are those who "self-identified as conservative."
Why do the concerns of this set of students get pride of place?
Did the panel seek to catalog the views of those who identified in other ways politically?

Alex Karp is using Palantir’s website to promote his white supremacist manifesto.

This is the company selling surveillance tools to ICE. The moment a sane person is in power in this country, Palantir & the entire fascist-techbro collaborationist sphere must be dismantled.

Why Yale’s term paper on what’s wrong with college gets a ‘D-’ | Will Bunch An Ivy League university's report on the loss of faith in higher ed ignores what really killed the American Dream of college.

@willbunch.bsky.social is so good. For all the praise of last week's report on public trust in higher education from Yale faculty, the writers deserve a D for ignoring the elephant in the room. www.inquirer.com/opinion/yale...

I consistently repeat to folks that they do not in fact ever *succeed* on their own. Sometimes the assistance is visible, often it is submerged. None of the USian billionaires *succeeded* on their own. In fact, most of them continue to benefit from your money, labor, etc....

My thoughts on the Swalwell stuff.

Notice how Democrats always hold their own accountable and Republicans just yell fake news, no matter how vile the evidence is?

Vance has never “opposed” the war an Iran! He has publicly supported it from the beginning and every step along the way.

The idea that he privately opposed it and that should be considered his official position is absolute garbage.

The death cult would be exhausting if it only hurt the cultists. Instead, they are subjecting everyone to their Medieval anti-science bullshit, threatening us all.

Hegseth announces automatic registration for US military draft to begin in December. Any immigrant who doesn't register within 30 days of turning 18 can be criminally charged.

All this does is show MAGA hypocrisy. Somehow auto voter registration isn’t possible—but auto draft registration is. smh

Number of ships that have crossed the strait since Iran said it was closed again:

Zero.

One ship even made a U-turn.

you do not have to hand it to tucker carlson or marjorie taylor greene or alex jones or megyn kelly. they're all rats who see trump as a sinking ship and they're getting ready to jump in preparation for their next act. you do not have to fall for it.

Cops fractured his skull for standing by in peaceful protest. And people in power claimed he assaulted the cops. No hell greater for those who smeared him. RIP.

The President of the U.S. The man with the nuclear codes. And people are just going to pretend this is ok.

In a functioning society, he would be removed from office within hours by his own party.

I remain amazed how many Harvard folks in the administration remain willing to push this nonsense.

/5 To expand on Point Four: the enemies of democracy and freedom are not just hacks like Wurman and Barnett, it’s also the people who demand that we treat Wurman and Barnett as good-faith commentators because they talk in law review articles or NYT editorials. Call evil evil.

/4. Fourth: Advocacy does have a moral component. Lying about law and history in an effort to make millions of people stateless is not “doing law the right way.” The notion that advocacy is morally neutral or even inherently good if performed according to cultural ritual remains vapid and harmful.

/2 Second: it’s a travesty this bullshit was treated this seriously — and it did real harm to the nation and democracy that it was indulged.

Third: It’s a very bad sign how many absolute amoral shameless hacks are willing to conjure up bullshit to support it.

I can promise you that without Five Eyes quite a lot of essential US signals intelligence disappears overnight. GCHQ and the NSA are so deeply integrated that several key systems don't work independently. The auto intel sharing is essential.

So: the US would blind itself, here.
