Apparently he's also claimed to be "100% disabled" and also African American because he lived in Niger for a while as a kid. Wasn't born there, but his dad worked there for a bit with USAID, and the family went with him.
So, yeah, another winner for sure.

Capstone project was for my War & Memory class, went with the female combatants of the Soviet Union during WWII and how after the war the Soviets actively tried to downplay or outright hide their existence. Still have some of the (translated, obviously) memoirs I bought for that one, too!
The role & effectiveness of propaganda in the Irish War of Independence. Bit hard to do anything too impressive with it, given it wasn't a huge university and I was only undergrad, (and also on the wrong side of the planet for ready access to primary sources).
Definitely enjoyed my capstone more.
Screenshot from the "Overview of the Wars" section of the Wikipedia Article on what's become known as the European Wars of Religion. The different colors represent which country/countries/regions, with the Holy Roman Empire (Green) and British Isles (Red) having a particularly rough couple of centuries.
Enough that the article for them on Wikipedia starts to look like something you'd find pinned to somebody's conspiracy board in places.
Martin Luther clearly left a note on the wrong door if this guy's only just now come to this realization.
...welp, finally, something I didn't have on my bingo card for 2026 that doesn't make me want to scream:
The Wile E. Coyote vs. ACME Corporation legal drama
Well, either that or this is him learning on the job and he's slowly working his way toward a very basic understanding of germ theory. Because yes, people who die from a communicable illness were sick, kinda how it works.
But I'm not holding my breath.
If not, you'll just have to keep going. I don't make the rules.
(which, yes, actually happened)
Also avoids the pitfall of guessing wrong out the gate.
That said, nothing will ever be funnier to me than a scammer claiming they work for BofA, then pivoting to saying they "also" work for Chase or Wells Fargo or something.
ngl, but captain_intenso sounds like a nightmare to work with.
Wait, did she graduate to stealing or is she still just trying to convince people to become money mules?
Even all these years later, I'm still unclear on why they decided to paint that so it reads as "Don't Dead Open Inside"
Extra History has a whole mini-series on the 1918 flu epidemic I definitely recommend!
The complete one comes in at a little over an hour, so I figured it was worth mentioning it does come in smaller chunks |D
Actually not sure if they ever figured out where that particular infection got its start, since I don't know of China suffering an outbreak at the time and I think it may have even been too early for Canada, but it was too far from the American one to have been the same.
Well, that was one of the origin points anyway (think it was in Kansas if I remember right? Maybe?).
It was also ravaging Chinese laborers traveling through Canada by rail to be shipped over to the Western front* and arrived that way, too.
(*China didn't fight, but did send people to help)
And I mention that one specifically because it's also a very obvious disparity that coincidence cannot explain:
French Army deaths from smallpox: ~23,000
German Army deaths from smallpox: < 500
That's a pretty massive disparity when you consider both armies were dealing with the same epidemic.
It's more the history definition of "recent past" but smallpox basically helped win the Franco-Prussian War because only one side was good with shit like "hygiene" and "vaccinating all the troops."
Hell, it's literally a biological response for the good of the species, what is she on about? Babies and kids are so cute and hard to resist responding to as an evolutionary precaution against us just ignoring them.
This (hers) is an absolutely insane take.
I don't want kids, I wouldn't even say I like kids, and I will absolutely respond to and interact with little kids in public being curious.
You'd have to be one HELL of an asshole not to.
(seriously I have known SEVERAL women over the years who could point to that movie and Helga, specifically, as their moment of awakening)
I think it might be the live action counterpart to Atlantis: The Lost Empire in that respect.
What, no "THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!" at the end? Grandpa's losing it.
Not really loving the implication that there's still more steps on the ladder to go, either.
On the one hand, there's the long-standing international consensus that targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure is one of the war crime-iest war crimes ever war crimed and on the other hand we've got an old rich guy who really wants to blow up those things. It's hard to know who to trust.
They didn't get to draft this one.
I always loved the "I miss the internet" under that one.
Poor forum troll's going through it and being reminded of better times.
Civilian vessels aren't really known for having armor, a 5" shell should have no issue getting there.
If something unfortunate doesn't keep happening to that construction site and halting work, I'm gonna be very disappointed.
The British have the opportunity to bring back Q Ships and do the funniest thing
