One of the #MayDayStrong activities I recommend here is a #CancelParty to cancel/unsubscribe from billionaire-owned services you don't need.

Would any of y'all be interested in a virtual #CancelParty event???

I had to double check things to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding or missed a rule because its so different from other narrative card games.

Watching my notebook get filled up with side quests and details and card interactions like my Elden Ring playthrough has been deeply satisfying.

Playing Earthborn Rangers for the first time and I'm really impressed with how it manages to emulate open world design in a boardgame. Wild to watch the framework disappear and be asked to truly just explore.

There’s a wave of attacks on the ruling class People have reached a breaking point. American consumer sentiment is terrible, registering at the lowest level ever recorded this week. Gas prices just jumped more in March than they have in any month...

Warehouses on fire, Molotov thrown at Sam Altman’s house, a data center supporting politician’s home shot at — attacks on the ruling class have begun.

Every attacker will now be deemed a terrorist, that’s inevitable.

But what the ruling class doesn’t want you to know is they made this inevitable.

Adam Baldwin was literally *the* guy who named GamerGate and made it go viral. It was just some loser 4chan/incel YouTuber shit before then. They spammed him to get his attention because they knew he’s also a psycho loser and they wanted to make it go viral, and he did it. And it worked.

It's not just that Orbán losing inspires hope in other competitive-autocratic countries ruled by right-wing nationalist authoritarians. It's that his loss materially changes things in those other countries, because he's been operating as a headquarters and funding source...

I'm back on my Honkai Star Rail bullshit, just finished the Amphoreus storyline and I'm starting the new one and I gotta say...

There's no faction I hate more than the IPC. Truly, one of the worst of all time.

We very often failed to live up to that ideal.
Now, we don't profess any kind of ideal at all.
Artemis II carries men and women of great courage and competence, farther than any human has ever traveled before. But the country that launched this mission has squandered any chance of ever saying to the world: Trust us, we will use this power well and wisely.
So, on a nervous night, the world watches us again, not gathered communally around black-and-white televisions to look at the moon, but individually staring at our cellphones, wondering whether there may be nuclear bombs in that ominous tool kit the vice president mentioned. Artemis II feels like an echo of a world that has passed, an old, beloved leitmotif from a symphony we have shredded. Once again we wonder about technology and power, but it is not the wide-eyed wonder of unprecedented achievement of the Space Age, but an unprecedented promise to return an entire people to the Stone Age.

Watching Artemis II at the same time as everything else going on felt heartbreaking. Theres is a younger version of me in my head that still enjoys things, and it closed its box of space toys, with their little American flags, and walked out of the room for good

It's open season for refusing AI There's been a wave of successful efforts to ban, reject and shut down AI.

Movements to shut down or ban data centers are amassing power and notching victories. Wikipedia has banned AI-generated content in articles. Publishers and entertainment studios are being pushed to reject AI-produced content outright.

In other words: It's open season for refusing AI.

I have spent a near-decade actively studying TTRPGs & the digital ecosystem around them, & been observing for longer.

I am very, very sorry to say I’ve seen cycles of boom & bust & burnout on loop — in part because some parts of the scene have no elders, few active mentors, too-few survivors.

Every piece of internet advice: Remember, Masks of Nyarlathotep is a really complicated and intricate campaign so take careful notes of what clues the investigators have received!

I, an idiot: I've never taken notes. Eh. I'll be fine.

To Get Ahead of ICE, New York Leaders Learn from Other States and Cities - Bolts Immigration authorities haven’t yet descended onto New York in the numbers they have in other cities. Advocates want public officials to use this time to redouble protections.

Always fascinating to see local officials across states talking to each other, rather than retreat in their state or city bubble.

In this case — to learn how to prepare and counter ICE.

You don’t have to be “normal.”
You only have to be yourself.

One day, a world will arrive where no one is boxed by categories like LGBT🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Until that moment, I’ll keep sending this message into the universe:
You are a beautiful, unique miracle.

In recent days, AMA communications to the New York Times have requested a correction on their part to reflect the actual language the AMA used in response to their inquiry. Additionally, a letter to the editor has been submitted requesting a public correction—this was neither a policy change nor was it an endorsement of a position taken by another medical society. In addition, during Congressional testimony in mid-March, I had the opportunity to set the record straight stating to the Subcommittee on Health of the House Energy and Commerce Committee that there has been no change in AMA policy with respect to access to and provision of gender-affirming care. This will appear in the Congressional Record.

The American Medical Association directly responds to New York Times coverage mischaracterizing their posiiton on gender affirming care for trans young people.

The Division is incredibly funny because the entire premise seems entirely reverse-engineered to support the pitch of "what if we made a looter-shooter in post-apocalypse NYC?" and in the process they created a game with the most fucked politics of all time

Looking for 1 more player for a Draw Steel campaign on @startplaying.bsky.social

Playing through Delian Tomb was amazing, but I'm super excited to play in a city where there are more places for danger to be lurking.

In honor of Mr. Rogers's birthday, I'm resharing this thread.

We are in desperate need of good neighbors. Being a good neighbor benefits everyone involved and will rip you from the malaise of hopelessness into the potential of community.

Do something. And if you don't know what to do, let me help.

For the record, the Nazis are spreading terms like “zio” and “zog” into leftist spaces intentionally as an on-ramp to fascism.

This is what cryptofascism means.

They explicitly talk about doing this on their forums and telegram channels.

You’re being played.
