Have you ever seen a twin iris bloom? One of the irsies in the front yard just bloomed with two flowers from one bud.
When I visit botanical gardens, I always take a bunch of photos to use for references. The photos themselves aren't necessarily amazing, but I look for the prettiest flowers that I can crop together for reference photos.
My latest work in progress. I've been working on this for about 6 months now, but it's so close to being done!
New base coat dropped.

Thank you so much! It's not quite done yet, but hopefully in the next few days I'll finish and post it.

For our first issue, we started with our own artists. Here's a few paintings in the series "Together" by Kevin Lempp @kev-lem.bsky.social , our Editor and Social Media Manager. Go check them out if you like flowers, insects, and nature!
Alan Wiltgen, the Designer, Creator, Founder, and Professional Brainstormer for Mad Sun Mag is also a professional artist! He pulls from German expressionism, creating interesting proportions and bold lines. In this art spotlight, the series "Static" plays with technology and the human experience.
All painters: do you prefer matte or gloss top coat?
