DK64 is most definitely a Rare game.
S-Video cable for my N64 has arrived. Along with Donkey Kong 64. Which looks a little rougher than I was expecting, so that'll be why it was cheaper than everywhere else. ๐
Still, I've been looking to this since I first saw the TV advert when it came out.
Yes
Today's Console Archives is going to be a good one. I know because I've already spent my allocated gaming budget for this month.
Played some more this evening. I think I've hit my peak. It gets very difficult after that 2nd bonus level. But it's still cracking. A very good game.
I've also been playing Total Drivin' the last few nights. A great racing game I've always had a soft spot for and some good 90s dance accompanying.
The player character from International Karate +, sparked out on the floor from getting beaten. The referee is stood at his feet with one of the cpu characters in a red gi stood behind them still in a fighting stance.
A picture of me at karate tonight.
Had a great time. 5 minute round of sparring with a big lad, managed to get them on the floor a couple of times. Absolutely knackered at the end of it though.
Best martial arts class I've had for ages. I do love a bit of kumite.
Nice! Happy birthday! ๐ ๐ฅณ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐
Game of the Year 1998 - The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Best Gameplay - Ocarina of Time Best Narrative - Metal Gear Solid Best Art Direction - was gonna be R4, but had to go with Resi 2. Couldn't leave one of my favourite games out. Best Soundtrack - Ridge Racer Type 4. A score that has endured in my memory since I first played it. Best Multiplayer - Vigilante 8. It's the time and the place. Many hours whiled away with friends playing this vehicular combat nonsense. Great fun back in the day.
My choices for 1998 GOTY over on Backloggd. A tough choice, made all the easier by remembering that Ocarina of Time is a game I play through almost annually.
I'll have to pick up Splatoon Raiders.
Problem is, there's now a load of other games I need to catch up with.
Yet to get Pokopia, Resi 9, Pragmata and Tomodachi Life. And FFVII Rebirth is out in June. And the new Yoshi one next month.
Can I have some tenners please?
Managed to get to level 7. Not bad going.
My character in IK+, wearing a white gi with a yellow belt and matching sweatband around his head. The character is stood looking at the hi score leader board.
The title screen for IK+
An action screen of IK+. Three characters face off against each other. The first to land six hits wins the round. Whoever gets the least hits in loses. The background is a traditional Japanese style arch and a lake with a low setting sun.
My character out cold on the floor after being eliminated from the game.
Made it to yellow belt in IK+.
This is a really tough, but addictive fighter. The controls are taking some getting used to, but it's a lot of fun.
To celebrate our 60fps upgrade of Yooka-Replaylee on Switch 2, we're giving away an alternate cover copy of the game to two lucky winners!

It's working as normal on mine.
Just ordered Donkey Kong 64. Look forward to it being added to the Switch library on Friday.
Red Panda, the lady that rides a big unicycle while kicking bowls onto her head. The real MVP.
The NBA playoffs are back in style.
Just finished Resident Evil remake.
Great stuff. It would've been better if it was the Gamecube version, which I do have, but I went for the convenience of playing the switch version, which doesn't look as good, and the tank controls are better than the full 3D movement, but still a great game.
They had the standard version in THE WALL. I considered grabbing that one myself.
That'd be pretty cool if they've got it.
I didn't have a thorough look today, as I didn't have a lot of time, and it was also quite busy.
Looking into it, PAL systems aren't equipped for RGB without modding them, which is why the scart cable doesn't work.
Apparently S video is the better option?
If anyone can recommend a good quality video output for the PAL N64 that will look cracking on my wee CRT, it's appreciated.
The opening cinematic for The Legend of Zelda Majoras Mask. Green Zelda has just fallen off his horse and is rubbing his head. It is playing in my TV/VCR combi.
Yeeeeaaaahhhhh, boi!
Gonna have to get a proper scart cable. For some reason my snes and N64 don't like my Gamecube one.
Already shopping around for Donkey Kong 64.
Guaranteed to be added to the Switch N64 library as soon as I buy it, so you're welcome in advance.
IK+ The Ultimate Martial Arts Simulation on the PS1 and the N64 expansion pak.
Behold.
Vintage Gamer's store front. Sonic and Duke Nukem are in the window.
A wall of PS1 games
And some PS2 games beneath.
Just traded in some duplicates, sports games and stuff gathering dust at Vintage Gamer. Got an expansion pak (finally) and International Karate + on the PS1 (I blame the cuxx for that one).
It's a shame the Warriors lost. That game against the Clippers was cracking and it's always a treat to see them (Steph) in the playoffs.
At least the Hornets got eliminated so we don't have to endure Lamelo Ball's stupid fucking face again until next season.
BBC4 are doing a Prince night. Started off by playing a compilation of both his stuff and covers from other bands and singers.
I was not ready for Muse doing Sign O the Times.
Twisted Sister are on the telly.
Kid looks at Dee Snyder and says "I wish I had hair like that".
I asked her what was stopping her achieving her dream.
"Bullies"
๐คฃ
I know I shouldn't laugh at such a thing, but her dead pan delivery was hilarious.
Now it's 1983 and we're opening with Church of the Poison Mind by Culture Club and Fascination by Human League.
Miles better. โบ๏ธ
Venga Boys knocking Lou Bega off number 1.
Wasn't even the Venga Bus.
I was watching CVXX yesterday and they were talking about Fun House. Rab said the segue music game him the fear. Memories of a bad time.
Just had that with one of the pop groups on TOTP tonight. The school bus, shite music, the lasses singing along. Hellish.
