Tens of thousands of people will be hit by āknock-on impactā of PIP cuts. Unpaid carers face losing carerās allowance if their family member loses eligibility for disability benefits - a devastating double loss
www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...
PIP is by no means a perfect policy (and not enough people receive support from it). But support that enables disabled people to live independently will inherently aid them in going to work.
The savings made here will be pennies for the government, but will be beyond painful for disabled people.
Footage from Liz laying out Labourās ātastyā plans.
Up to 1.2 million disabled people will lose thousands of pounds under the govās welfare overhaul. If you want more people to get āout of bedā and into work; donāt cut care & mobility budgets that help people get out of bed & into work!
Catch if you can!
This wave of cuts is going to crash hard and pull so many people under. This is not just the loss of livelihood. This is life and death stuff.

This is a brilliant initiative by Playwright Studio, these kinds of open spaces for writers of all levels of experience are vital for development, especially in the north of Scotland which has a unique grassroots writing scene with not a lot of national support. Big thanks to EC too for hosting!
GLENN: Why don't you wear a suit? You're at the highest level in this country's office & you refuse to wear a suit. A lot of Americans have problems with you not respecting the office.
ZELENSKYY: I will wear a costume after this war will finish. Maybe something like yours. Maybe something better.

Nik & I have been collaborating for over a year now! Weāre looking kick on with our exciting new project, The Grim Collective. Hereās an old poem of mine with some fresh beats, provided by Nik. Unfortunately the subject is still painfully relevant, with the govās plans to āļø welfare by Ā£9billion.

Labour are a liability and this is only gateway for even more systemic brutality. People will die under these changes.
Research for anti-poverty charity Z2K found the economic value of disability benefits far outweighs the cost: while there is a Ā£28bn annual bill for administering the benefits, they give a potential Ā£42bn economic boost . This is not a new phenomenon. It just doesnāt fit with their narrative.
This callous ignorant rhetoric is now systemic. Itās been abundantly clear that Labour was never going to reverse these welfare reforms proposed by the tories. Iām sick to death of having to justify the value of disabled peopleās existence through economic terms.
Nabbed a ticket for this! Always keen for what Jackie boy has in store. It will be cracking Iām sure. And Iām not just saying that cause Iām contractually obligated to back the work of a fellow Jackā¦
Also, looking forward to my first Strange Town show!

A lot of positivity for sure! The most encouraging news weāve had for a long while!
But also feeling it for those that have missed out. Itās still very perplexing and sad.
Bated breath...not jut for those employed full time at arts institutions, but even more among freelancers whose lives have been in paralysis for years because of this cack-handed system.
