who were your grandparents? what did they do? i need to know because apparently it determines what you’re allowed to have opinions on

okay, so what is it? why does it matter what someone’s ancestors did? you bring it up like it’s some sort of dunk, so clearly you think it means something about that person

okay, someone’s grandparents were wealthy. what does that tell us about that person? why does that matter? is wealth some original sin that a family can never rid themselves of?

explain why it matters who people are descended from in a way that doesn’t become racist go

They haven’t even finalised the lander and we’re still pretending Starship makes sense for this. We’ve lost Lunar Gateway. Nobody’s even talking about Mars, not seriously at least. It feels like we’ve lost our way, nobody knows where we’re going and nobody really trusts that we’ll actually get there

That didn’t happen, obviously. Artemis 2 is incredible, but it feels bittersweet. I should have been a kid for this. We should be back there already. Artemis IV is supposed to land on the moon in 2028, and I want to believe it, but I’ve been lied to about this before.

I’ve been thinking a lot about spaceflight lately, for obvious reasons. My childhood took place during the end of the Shuttle program, I remember how excited I was for Constellation, for Artemis and Altair and the Ares rockets. I was told I’d see people back on the moon by 2020 and mars soon after.

Hungary has chosen Europe.

Europe has always chosen Hungary.

45 years ago today the first space shuttle, Columbia, launched with Astronauts John Young and Bob Crippen on board.

It was the only time that the first flight of a spacecraft was with astronauts on board.

lure them in with disco music then surprise them with multi-domain task forces. it’s the oldest trick in the book.
