In Cyprus the VAT threshold is very low. You only have to *expect* to earn €15k in the next rolling 12 months and you must register. That means monthly VIES filings and quarterly VAT returns. BUT it only costs me €238/quarter inc VAT to pay an account to do it. (Plus ~2k annual audited accounts.)
Signing up to EU single market rules would be a good thing.
Doing so without a Parliamentary vote would be an electoral gift to Reform and Conservatives. It would be a huge political miscalculation. Better to be persuasive than push it through without one.
