The satirical news outlet The Onion has a new plan to take over conspiracy theorist Alex Jones' Infowars platforms and turn them into parodies.

maybe what i can do is make a sandbox machine that i just try to teach myself how to vibe code on and if i brick the os it's nbd.
kinda jealous of programmers getting to play with toys for free. mechanical engineering as a hobby is so expensive.
a miserable file of secrets
musk is a dickhead but don't have reason to doubt the engineers at space x that it's happening. the infrastructure is there. they get plenty of money coming in from starlink and falcon launches like every week. this thing's gonna be like the 747 of moon travel, for whatever democrat wins in 2028.
photo of scale models on a table of the two lunar lander prototypes from spacex and blue origin for upcoming artemis missions
i'm just excited about lunar development regardless, but it's still funny seeing photos of these models next to each other at scale. blue origin's like double the size of apollo, a very realistic plan for next year, and spacex gambling wildly with trying to put a skyscraper on the moon right away.
what the hell are axiom doing that the space suits aren't ready yet. it's not rocket science, and the part that was rocket science even already went to the moon and back twice.
did you know hammer factories require electricity? and that you have to clear land to build them? and sometimes neighbors hear them being made? just use a rock anyway, why would you need it to be comfortable or efficient to hit things. if you can't find rocks on your property that's a skill issue.
definitely skeptical of using it for fairly straightforward or deterministic tasks that need to be repeatable or noncreative, like just feels unnecessary complexity there, but more useful for open ended assistance or designer contexts.
there's so much promise in automating actually useful tasks, but in that hype, more long term considerations, scammers can push nonsense rn; that's annoyingly making it difficult to have serious discussions about the former category, and i can't wait to go away, or at least be less prominent.

I get it.

everyone bears responsibility for their own actions, but i think as especially a white american, people in this country, and of course in europe, need to crack down on nazism and protect jews, at the same time as condemning the violence as violence plainly and all this religious trapping is pretense
is it a hot take to say i think a lot of israelis watched nazi propaganda and got negatively polarized into acting like caricatures of themselves? i'm not excusing behavior, but it just sucks how trauma works and so many innocent people have to deal with the consequences perpetuating the violence.
