Well, she's right about how good you are and I love reading you both!

I realize now that I should have made it clear that this was a very nice review and it was safe to read!

You and me both

I read them back-to-back because I remembered absolutely nothing from reading Dickens 40 years ago. The way Kingsolver overlays the new version where it's exactly the same except completely different is astonishing. Hers is amazing and moving (and so depressing I'll never reread it)

If I gave you...

What pairs of letters do you need to make common words from the following?

1.

@bluejo.bsky.social I've been searching for your monthly reading list on Reactor but their search function only returns results thru Dec 2023 even though I know you have written every month in 2024. Wondering what the heck? And is there a July 2024 column? I love your reading list, I miss it!

@joshuakosman.bsky.social Thanks for the nudge on the Gaffney today at Westwords, that did the trick. What a fun day! I sure hope this becomes an annual event. #westwords

Thank you, I appreciate these so much! I've gotten several recommendations from you that I've given to my book club, and we've enjoyed reading them (like Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont.) The other women want to know where I'm getting my ideas from but you are my secret book reviewer!

I pop the vacuum seal by using the pointy end of a church key under the lid. Once the vacuum is gone I never have any trouble unscrewing my glass jars. Doesn't work on things like plastic peanut butter jars though.

That's why I play the M-W Blossom game instead, it's limited to the 12 best words. So much less time-consuming!
