Khajiit has wares if you have coin
That was so fucking infuriating to watch then and I'm still angry about it.
"How did we get here? I don't understand!"
Well, conveniently, the people before you left a map...
Danny Kaye is an inspired pick.

One of the main reasons I have so many birds in my garden right now: the neighbours are cutting down every single tree in their garden. During nesting season. In a rural area.
I just....
Anyway.
So I'm making sure the dandelions make seed. The finches love the seed from the tufts...so, spread!
I've now got a little wren buddy who comes to the window and sings his heart out, with a full dance, every morning. Then he sits on the windowsill and does an encore.
Like the most powerfully singing opera tenor ever.
“I went ahead and made a browser extension.
Kill Yr Substack intercepts every Substack link (even on custom domains) and redirects it to `archive.is`.
Substack's numbers go down. You still get to read the thing tho.”
what a great workaround 🤗
The UK is insisting it's...family dogs. Or mobile phones. In some cases, they're fining parents for absenteeism. But the UK decided to use children as a human buffer for adults.
And have buried Covid since; we seem to be hoping AI will fill in for all the cognitive dysfunction instead.
It's grim.
The idea that people who take significant Covid precautions must be introverts is offensive as hell.
It’s ableist as hell. Performers, Organizers, the biggest extroverts in the world were forced to give up careers because other people wouldn’t mask. We do it because we still can’t afford COVID.
It was the first time I'd been able to do those things in YEARS.
Things I've asked for as accomodations and had always told was too expensive/too costly/too complicated to do.
Apparently, it wasn't.
I am never going to be able to forget how I could watch movies, concerts, go to museums, zoos and aquariums, have fancy restaurants do home delivery, dance parties, all done within the space of weeks because able-bodied people demanded it.
And then, once covid was "over", they took it all back.
Research on COVID is being hampered by a lack of interest by publishers and funding, imo. Considering we are only about 7 years into a brand-new disease, we lost interest pretty quickly.
Yes. Our papers and grants that mention Covid are rejected at a disproportionately high rate. The topic evokes shame and guilt among those reading the documents.
I am livid that people assume that everyone who still takes significant precautions must be having a great time.
Some of us just understand the stakes and have lost too much to LC or other disabilities to FAAFO. Check in on your disabled friends. Host accessible masked events. You’re isolating US!
Great. Used to hear this a lot as a kid. Love that I'm in my 50s and hearing it again.
Screenshot of a thread on X. Top post by Steve Laws, verified account @Steve_Laws_, posted four hours ago: “People like to avoid the mixed race question but here’s a prime example of these people belonging nowhere. We don’t want them and neither do they. Very problematic.” The post quote-tweets an earlier post by the same account: “We don’t want them. They’re yours.” That post in turn quotes a user called Naima, @Naimaintaipei, replying to @eleanorzjames and @MrNChance: “Mixed race people aren’t black at all. We don’t want them to claim black.” The Laws post shows 79 replies, 59 reposts, 928 likes, 16,000 views. Below it, a reply from a verified account called Zoomer, @ZoomerHistorian, posted four hours ago: “A genuinely rootless people, terrible.” The reply shows 6 replies, 3 reposts, 234 likes, 2,500 views.
Two Restore Britain supporters, both in Rupert Lowe’s orbit, discussing on X about what to do with those who are mixed-race. Conversations that once had to be held secretly now held with little to no pushback. So much for the marketplace of ideas.
Our relationship with sadness runs deep because sadness is not a single emotion. It is a convergence of love, memory, limit, and longing. It is the honest response to change in a world we do not fully control.

Gotta show you this tardigrade cake I saw at the American Museum of Natural History.
Kenyan climate-tech engineer Joseph Nguthiru was honored with the U.N. Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Young Champions of the Earth award in 2025.
HyaPak is already exporting biodegradable bags for planting seedlings to the U.S. and Germany, and it has plans for franchises in India and El Salvador.
"What we are trying to look at is, how do we use one problem which is water hyacinth to solve the other problem which is plastic waste pollution,” says Joseph Nguthiru.
“We work with fishermen who are affected [by it] and we contract them to harvest the water hyacinth for us.”

Starmer is aware the fastest track to Silicon Valley right now as a Brit is via being PM, so say something-something about AI, do some blah-blah at Palantir even if you know sweet F.A about technology and spend as much time anywhere but in the office until it's time to go.
It's worked before.
I have missed it, not even being facetious, was just reading some grim shit and for some reason that sentence hit me so hard I doubled over laughing, which I needed. Thank you.
Politics that involves people being constantly made miserable *on purpose* is just stupid
Perhaps if certain views were constantly treated as "shocking and offensive" I might interrogate why fair-minded people would not want to hear them, and that's even before we get into the whole "those views are constantly amplified everywhere else ad nauseam" thing.
I really hate the - honestly very right wing - framing that it is somehow good to constantly be shocked and offended. This is simply not how the real world works *or should be expected to work*
*lobs salt* we gotchu
The part at "rhythm and bluuuuuueeeeOOOOOs" went exactly how you think it went, only it was even BETTER than that.
One of the glorious things about total recall is I can still dissolve into giggling after getting a bit blazed on pain meds when I remember how it sounded to hear an Australian football team bellowing out the lyrics of "American Pie" on open mic night.
It was 30 years ago. I can still hear it.
I love being hit by your level of Australian poetry in the morning, it gives me such delight, sibling! I'm cackling into my coffee over here.
