One of the things I love getting to do with my own newsletter is featuring sports books. Here are five more (some recent, some older) to check out, from @jaybusbee.bsky.social, @pxw13.bsky.social, Chris Myers, Bill Walton, and Gary Myers. Free post here: andrewbucholtz.com/posts/scribb...
This was another fun discussion with Nii Wallace-Bruce.
Ok this is pretty sweet. Let's get another one. @torontoargos.bsky.social #pulltogether
Just saw this. Sorry, I do not know altho it sounds vaguely familiar. Maybe check the Jay Teitel book.
Please tell me the Stamps are not going top-to-bottom red like this.
I wrote a lot about Willie in my book about the 1981-83 Toronto Argonauts. He was a good man and a good coach who deserved a better fate. (But I believe Fritz Pollard was the first Black head coach in pro football.)

This is such a good piece.
The challenge with comparing punters across generations is that the demands of the position have changed. Joe Zuger wasn't expected to land each punt outside the numbers near the sideline, etc. Rouges were not considered failures.
Don't forget, the league -- not the teams -- owned the playoff games. It would have had to be a league-produced program.
I can't be 100% definitive, but I just checked my collection and I do not have a program for that game. I was there and certainly would have picked a few up. I have every other home game in 2012. They were doing glossy but thin freebie programs in that era.
This is what social media should have been.
You too, Scott!
I had a lot of fun the past three days talking #GreyCup on
@ctvnewschannel. For the record, on Sunday's appearance I predicted a final score of Toronto 31 Wpg 20. (Even I didn't see 41-24 coming!)
I'm looking forward to seeing more of the ends dropping back into the secondary from time to time.
Eight D-linemen should be sufficient, especially with the quality of the four backups. I wonder if Priester might replace Darkangelo on some passing downs.
For real. The project has been delayed for various reasons but it is a hell of a story. It's 80% done; hopefully I get it finished in the very near future.
