ah, well, that i didn't know. but i would've made sure to find this out if cybersecurity was my goal lol
seems like they should probably be asking their professors about what this field entails. a lot of money being paid for a degree. use the resources available to you!!
also seems like a good idea to get a CCNA cert or something to really know your network fundamentals. seems like that's almost a must if you wanna go into security
i remember obsessively researching this stuff to get into IT and helpdesk was really the only way because there was absolutely no way i was gonna go back to college for an IT degree or whatever. but if i were going into IT at like age 19 or something? lol there's a simple path for this kinda goal
oh man lol
it's funny because they *should* be doing internships in college in cybersecurity or at least in networking if they want to break into cybersecurity faster, as that could allow them to skip helpdesk. but idk, it seems a lot of college students are just kinda helpless now
this reminds me of how i occasionally check in on /r/itcareerquestions every once in a while and half of the subreddit feels actively suicidal
i keep forgetting that you're basically in a tech/tech-adjacent field now, apologies lol
i'm glad you got something out of the conference, but definitely not a great sign for the job market in accounting that this happened
i'll definitely need to practice networking skills in a non-job-seeking context when EY hosts happy hours for interns and stuff this summer
i admittedly am still not a good networker like that but so far i seem to be doing it right
i would simply go to networking functions and like, talk to people, see what they're about, tell them what i'm about, and idk talk about random bullshit for a few minutes or something. can't come off too desperate lol
JD Vance admitting on live TV that the U.S. can also engage in "economic terrorism" is something i don't think i ever anticipated any american official, other than trump, being stupid enough to say out loud. you're supposed to pretend america is a force for good man
it was very inspired :)
i wanna get swole because the concept of being a buff accountant is funny to me. also i love the feeling of soreness from going to the gym, i'm just too poor to be going to the gym rn
i think it was a bad idea more generally to vote for a man who got defeated in the 1988 democratic presidential primaries for being a plagiarist tbh
Imagine a world where the opposition party had as much gas for hating war criminals as they do for hating a himbo streamer.
I think it's important for people to understand just how shocking anything but a 9-0 would be to the legal institutions, and those of us calling SCOTUS a third house of congress effectively will be entirely vindicated in pushing for further electoral influence on SCOTUS irt expanding the court.
at least it seems clear now that AI is not as much of a threat to radiology as people initially assumed lol
israel has been ok with rising anti-semitism because they believe it advances their interests by convincing jews that israel is a safe haven or something. they've even fomented anti-semitism to advance this end
seems like that was not very wise
i've been eating a lot of vegan products. it's actually wild how good vegan stuff has gotten. i also thankfully don't really care if beef gets super expensive or whatever. we need to eat from the bottom of the food pyramid anyway
the GOP losses might be as bad as 2006 at this rate
i'm not even sure costco gas is still cheaper than competitors at this point
me and my friend are gonna play that game next. i hear it's great
even if trump weren't cognitively damaged, i am not gonna accept the claim that a 79 year old man has the fine motor coordination to recreate a map of the middle east
the biggest disconnect between most people and government is that they donβt feel like government is doing anything useful for them
bridging this divide is as difficult as itβs ever been in the age of fractured social media, but I genuinely do not think anyone is doing it better than Zohran
hang in there man π
my intermediate 1 professor was not optimistic about it happening any time soon. she was like "this will probably not happen in our lifetimes" on the first day of class lol
my professors love talking about how popular the topic of financial reporting convergence was in the 2000s lol
IFRS is low key GOATed when GAAP hate is the vibe
this reads like a tweet regimecpa would make in the next week or two
