John McDonnell was 100% correct - McSweeney and Mandelson were rewarded for bringing down the Labour left and securing the Labour leadership for Starmer - whatever they wanted, they were to get without question. Keir Starmer is an iredeemable liar.

John McDonnell spoke of this being a political appointment, and that point was communicated across Government.
