These food delivery robots have individual "names" and I'm curious about the decision-making that led to giving THIS robot — the one taking the blame for smashing through the glass walls of Chicago bus stops — an Arabic name, Nasir, as opposed to something more generically white guy like Bob or Pete
Absolute perfection.
A+ four stars 10/10 100%.

Thinking of my colleagues who lost their jobs last year.
These cuts did no improve efficiency. They undermined the functioning of our government.
A police watchdog is hosting a public hearing Thursday with the city’s top cop to discuss the department’s interactions with immigration agents — but he refused to participate if it featured legal, police reform and immigration experts, records show.

I still remember the first time I noticed that Chicago parking ticket writers are employees of the Department of Revenue 💡💰
Gotta make money to spend money! 🤑 (in theory)

When Oz says “things your family used to do for you” he’s talking about unpaid, undervalued, mostly female labor back in a time when fewer women had to work outside the home, and families were also much bigger. It’s misogynistic as hell, and ignores today’s economic realities.
Infuriating. But yeah sure, the corporate head tax was a bad idea. 😠
A Chicago Sun-Times article says there will be more parking aides patrolling the city in 2026 to boost parking and traffic ticket revenue by $43 million.
OH MY GOD I WAS RIGHT.

I know this is totally anecdotal, but has anyone else in Chicago noticed a huge uptick in parking enforcement since roughly December? I swear I see ticketers on my Bridgeport block weekly now after almost never seeing them for seven years prior.

Literally this: 1 billion dollars, conservatively invested to produce 4% interest a year, generates $100,000 per DAY in interest alone. 100Grand every day towards harassment and abuse, without touching the capital. She has 1.2 billion, so the other 20K/day in interest pays for life expenses.
JK is already a literal billionaire, and you need to understand the sheer scope of what that means and the very real influence that status affords her. She does not need more money, more publicity, more viewership. It’s so easy to withhold a personal contribution to that.
This is a newer one but I laugh every time I read the headline.
trans women have been trying for years to explain that the anti-abortion and anti-trans movements are ultimately the same movement and these bastards just come out and say it
Just a reminder that this account just makes things up and presents them as news. It's lib fan fiction. Nothing from the Halfway Post is real.
They pretend it's satire, but what is this even satirizing? What's the commentary? What's the joke?
good

Mayor Johnson says he is discouraged by this vote, slamming "the self-proclaimed Democrats" who voted for the roll back.
"It's shameful," Johnson says.
"We will continue to stand with working people," Johnson says, promising to use "every single tool available to me" to stop it from taking effect.
I got to test out a 1-day version of this training a couple years ago and it was EXCELLENT.
