In my experience, Balatro's real joy comes as you unlock more and more content. Initially, there aren't too many choices, but later you find yourself with a bevy of possibilities. If you didn't vibe with Slay the Spire, I'm not sure you'll vibe with Balatro. I greatly enjoyed it, though.

New favorite thing: communal sand to address slippery roads and sidewalks. Waiting for a light? Sand! Car can't get traction? Sand! Just fantastic.

We're playing Total War: Warhammer 3 tomorrow. It'll be my first "ugly race" playthrough: orcs! Will I match their brutality, or will Good Guy Rizorty try to embody pre-WoW Thrall?

Totally agree with you, Cringer. The other DLCs fit into the base game's stories, while Anomaly takes over everything. Interesting to try but not really for me.
