Skilled midwives can mean the difference between life and loss 🤍 In Sudan, conflict has made care hard to reach. For many displaced women, midwives are the only support during childbirth. With partners, Alight helps women give birth safely, even in crisis #AlightSudan #Sudan
Across the Somali Peninsula, drought is forcing families to leave home in search of water. Since 2010, Alight has delivered support to hard-to-reach places. Over 208K people gained access to water last year. This week, 1,4K households in Hargeisa are being reached.

It was incredibly meaningful to have The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visit Questscope’s Youth Center at Za’atari Refugee Camp last week. Their time with Syrian refugee youth brought joy and energy to the community and reminded young people of the strength and potential they carry within themselves. 💛

Over the weekend, funding ended for 13 nutrition centers supported by Alight in Somalia. “Suddenly, we have to close all these facilities,” said Adan Adar, Alight’s Executive Director for the Horn of Africa.
