Getting young people into work and training is welfare reform.

We're not giving up on young people who are struggling to find work. We're giving them new opportunities, by funding cash bonuses to businesses that hire young people.

Businesses will be able to recieve £3,000 for hiring a young person who has been out of work for 6 months, and SMEs can get £2,000 for hiring young apprentices.

We are expanding the Youth Guarantee, meaning that any 18-24 year old out of work for 18 months will be guaranteed 6 months paid work.

The Tories abandoned the young to unemployment, Reform call them scroungers, but Labour is backing young people with 200,000 new opportunities.

Announced today: the Youth Guarantee.

Every young person who has received Universal Credit for 18 months without “earning or learning” will be guaranteed an offer of paid work.

We will not stand by while a generation is consigned to benefits almost before they’ve begun.

Labour has announced the Government is in talks with the Premier League to support the Youth Guarantee – helping more young people get into work or training.

This announcement includes £25 million investment into helping young people get jobs, training and education.

Since the election, Labour has funded 5 million extra NHS appointments.
This makes a huge impact on the waiting lists that were ever-growing nt under the Tories.
But we know there is more to do, and we'll keep working hard for our NHS.

One week in as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, I'm focused on building a welfare state that is there for those that need it, and helps support people into work.

Help for those who need it. Getting people into work. Security for pensioners. Increasing skills and opportunity.

Thousands of civil service jobs to be relocated to 13 towns and cities across the country.
11 central London offices will be closed - saving £94m per year - as the number of London roles is reduced by 12,000.
We will save taxpayers money, and make Government better reflects the country it serves.

Today, Ronan's Law - a ban on the online sale of ninja swords - was passed in the House of Commons.

Ronan's Law is named for my constituent Ronan Kanda who was killed aged just 16 with one of these swords bought online.

Thank you to Ronan's mum Pooja and his sister Nikita for their tireless work.

Yesterday I opened the UK Resilience Academy in Yorkshire. It will train 4000 people a year in emergency response and recovery.
