Wow, I'm still trying to post here as a comparison to Threads, but I mostly get either no response at all or hostile, troll-y responses. What's that about?
is better at communist name-calling--to see how the horseshoe theory is real when anti-democratic, dictatorial rule is the common denominator between far-left and far-right?
Now that people in China are calling Trump the Mao Zedong of America, and Musk's takeover and purge is being called reminiscent of Stalin, can we get all those 1st and 2nd generation Americans who were duped into voting for Trump--because their families fled communist regimes and the GOP
Turns out a lot of libertarians weren’t actually against government — just government by the people, for the people.
Zelensky is a wartime leader watching his people suffer and die under Russian attacks every day. To be lectured and lied to by Trump and Vance, as they defend the war criminal dictator committing these atrocities, is unimaginable agony. An everlasting shame for America.
They could say stuff like:
"Didn't know he'd turn into a Bond villain when I bought it"
"Can't afford to ditch it for an Ioniq 6 yet, but I'm working on it"
I actually know someone in this situation. They'd love to pull a Sheryl Crow, but they can't afford to...yet.
Thoughts?
Hi @teslatakedown.com! I have an idea to add as a mini-campaign. Create a range of loud, snarky bumper stickers for progressive Tesla owners (like Sheryl Crow) who bought theirs years ago for environmental reasons but now want to signal contempt for Elon and help tank further sales?
I replied on Threads but will here, too. I know you can't call out the obvious pattern we're watching play out in real time, but plenty of us see it. Can we PROVE it? Nope. (See @adamserwer.bsky.social's recent mention of "plausible deniability.") But that's why it's so pernicious. I am so sorry.
This part is genius:
"What its advocates want is not a restoration of explicit Jim Crow segregation...They want an arrangement that perpetuates racial inequality indefinitely while retaining some plausible deniability, a rigged system that maintains a mirage of equal opportunity...
This was so informative! If I can mention one point of disagreement, though, it's your comment that the DEI stuff is a distraction. I think it's anything but. It's core to the agenda. Pls read @adamserwer.bsky.social's article yesterday in @theatlantic.com: www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...
When the state takes over a private industry, we call it communism, but what do we call it when one private industrialist takes over the state?
I'm thinking about the movie "Au Revoirs Les Enfants" today. I wonder why.
Oh, no! Please don't, @whitehouse.senate.gov! I so admire you and your work exposing corporate capture of the courts and our political system. But I believe this would be such an error in judgment!
Am just listening to this on delay. My heart is with you, @libradunn1.bsky.social (and Officer Fanone, and @sergeantaqgo.bsky.social, and all your colleagues). I'm so, so sorry.
Headline: "Felon pardons felons."

Can Trump really end birthright citizenship with an executive order? The 14th Amendment says otherwise.

Thank you, @mjsdc.bsky.social. I so value your opinion and your work at @slate.bsky.social (together with @dahlialithwick.bsky.social!). I hope you're right. I'm curious to know what you think the actual breakdown will be, though. 9-0? 7-2?
Thank you, Ali @velshi.bsky.social, for this segment. It was very moving.❤️
This is really awful. Can we boost the signal & crowdfund Luke Evans’ research? @hankgreen.bsky.social ? www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/save-groun...
Just finished reading thenewpress.com/books/scheme and it makes me appreciate @whitehouse.senate.gov all the more. Breaks my heart, though, that he's like a (male) Cassandra whom not enough people listen to nor believe. He's been warning us for so long.
“Indeed, but for Mr Trump’s election and imminent return to the presidency, the office assessed that the admissible evidence was sufficient to obtain and sustain a conviction at trial.”
I hear a lot of criticism toward @arimelber.bsky.social because he's interviewed a lot of unsavory types (Matt Gaetz, for one), but he's good at calling out Mark Zuckerberg's disingenuousness and hypocrisy.
Dear K-drama English translators: Please brush up on your knowledge of the perfect and past perfect tenses. Thank you.
The fossil fuel industry wants to move oil by train from Utah alongside the Colorado River, down to Texas and Louisiana.
The Supreme Court could use the case to gut key health and environmental protections nationwide.
According to Barron’s, Elon Musk’s wealth increased by almost $200 billion between November 5 and December 20. That means he could give $250,000 to every homeless person in the US and still be as rich as he was on November 5.
