One of the greatest things about academia is seeing the next generation of leaders find their way. Congrats to our residents who matched info fellowship! And thanks to all of our faculty who mentored them along the way 👏🏼

Inside the Turmoil at the V.A. Mental Health System Under Trump (Gift Article) A chaotic restructuring ordered threatens to degrade services for veterans of wars in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.

“She was required, under a new return-to-office policy, to conduct virtual psychotherapy with her patients from one of 13 cubicles in a large open office space, the kind of setup used for call centers.”

📢 Include #Disability in #MedEd! 📢

Over 1 billion people worldwide live with a disability.

Medical education lacks training on #InclusiveHealthcare. This gap leads to misunderstandings, inaccessible healthcare, and poorer health outcomes.

The people I work with at the VA are there because they believe in the mission of the VA- patient care, research, and education. All in a system that doesn’t bankrupt its patients. We’re not going anywhere 💪🏼💪🏼

Trump Administration Escalates D.E.I. Crackdown in Latest Threat to Federal Workers The warning came one day after the administration ordered that diversity, equity and inclusion efforts across the government be shut down by 5 p.m. Wednesday.

I think it’s safe to say I’m not getting through these Tik Tok notifications today. Very sad to see this app go, not only because it’s my biggest platform but also as a consumer of the incredible content there. RIP to the best algo out there.

Pouring one out for TikTok. There are a lot of people, including queer and trans people, whose lives will be wrecked by the decision to ban it. It will also significantly reduce the ability of young queer people to see positive representations of themselves.

It’s a sad day for many.

The Chronicle of Higher Ed has been tracking changes to DEI. Over 80 colleges have made changes (such as eliminating diversity statements or offices/roles) without any legal requirement to do so. The University of Florida reallocated $5 million away from DEI. None of this bodes well.
