Services like Primrose Hospice and Acorns Children’s Hospice do extraordinary work for families across Redditch and the Villages.

This brilliant group tackles loneliness, builds friendships and supports wellbeing and it was inspiring to meet Terry, 95, who’s been part of the Shed for years.
Businesses like Bee Lighting are the backbone of our local economy, supporting skilled jobs and innovation.
Redditch has a proud manufacturing heritage and I’ll be raising these concerns in Parliament, backing British industry and making sure local voices are heard.
Great to visit Bee Lighting and hear directly from Colin Fulford and the team.
We discussed the real pressures facing UK manufacturers, from rising energy costs to growing reliance on imports.
And with the new Fair Work Agency launching, these rights will be properly enforced.

From today, the Employment Rights Act delivers: sick pay from day one, day-one paternity & parental leave, stronger union recognition, new whistleblower protections and bereavement leave.

Thanks to Persimmon Homes’ £6,000 donation, pupils now have a fun, active space to build confidence, strength, balance and wellbeing.
That’s a pay rise for 2.7 million people, delivered through the New Deal for Working People.

From today, the National Living Wage rises to £12.71 (a £900 boost for full-time workers) while 18–20 year olds see an 8.5% rise to £10.85, worth around £1,500 a year.

Beverley also explained some of the issues causing delays, including bot attacks and people buying tests to resell and shared that changes are being made to tackle these problems.

I met with Beverley Warmington, the new Chief Executive of the DVSA, to raise concerns about the difficulty local residents are having in booking driving tests.
She acknowledged the challenges and highlighted that 1.9 million tests were completed last year, with 400 more examiners recruited.

Redditch is bidding for UK Town of Culture 2028 and I’ve written to Harry Styles asking him to back our bid.
For young people here, he's living proof you can go from Redditch to the world stage.
