You have to make sure your Z-A save file is also on the latest version.

It’s a simple fix- just open Z-A, save, and then you can go back into home.

I forgot to mention that the game is an eternal format- with only a banlist holding overpowered cards back from wreaking havoc.

That’s important because they’ve recently been getting rid of end board negation pieces that were getting out of hand. So turns are more interactive as of late.

That being said there is a tournament format called “dragon duelists” where only kids up to a certain age can play, and some of them are way better at the game than I am. So on some level it’s a skill issue? But 99% of the time it’s a daunting task to get into the game.

The benefit of this system is that two competent players always feel like they’re in the game. Always have the ability to play, and are always able to express their skills.
Unfortunately the downside is that it’s borderline impossible to teach new players- And Konami has done nothing to remedy that

This is due to how decks work- they’re designed with these cards in mind. A good pilot can maneuver their way around these cards.

There are also cards that let you just kind of play on the opponents turn. But it’s not so much that it’s out of place. Typically just one or two actions.

Most Yugioh turns are full of interaction, for better or for worse. One turn of yugioh is like playing out several turns in other card games.

In mtg terms there are generic instants that all decks can play that are counter spells or removal- that cost 0 to play.

But then… if it’s destroyed it doesn’t go to the discard pile- it goes into its own separate deck, and if you have two of them on the field as enchantments you can cast creatures from your hand for free with a mana cost between the numbers listed on it.

Yugioh doesn’t have mana, but just as an ex.

No worries! Showing “pendulum” monsters to someone who’s never played yugioh before is definitely an adventure.

I wish I had a good mtg comparison but honestly there’s really nothing like it. In the very simplest terms you can play this card as either an enchantment or a creature.

Don’t want to assume your background with yugioh but just to clear the air this card is purposefully absurd and most cards aren’t like this. This card is also very bad so you don’t even see it played.

The character who plays D/D/D in the manga/anime’s entire deck is just kinda like this.
