A group of people wearing backpacks stand on a rocky landscape.
Studying glacial isostatic adjustment is vital for projecting future sea levels, but getting into this field poses challenges to early-career scientists, say @rebekka-geo.bsky.social & @landuplift.bsky.social + colleagues from @byrdpolar.bsky.social & @lamont.columbia.edu.

The 'mysterious' forebulge of the last glaciation - often used to explain a certain geologic or hydrologic behavior. New review published in @agu.org Reviews of Geophysics sheds light on: doi.org/10.1029/2024... Joint effort by Christian Brandes, @rebekka-geo.bsky.social, Tanghua Li Patrick Wu & me

SW Baltic Sea faults were quite active in the last 200 ka, related to release of Saalian and Weichselian ice sheets induced stress release. See new study by Seidel et al.: doi.org/10.1111/bor..... Also show a snapshot where future earthquakes (next 1000 a) may be related to such stresses.
Determining the land uplift signal in gravity measurements might be delayed by stubborn animals. But just a little. Read more in this #EGU #Geodesy blog by @rebekka-geo.bsky.social and myself blogs.egu.eu/divisions/g/...

⚒️Have you ever heard of Glacial Isostatic Adjustment? 🏔️🧊No worries, if you haven't. We've got you covered! We asked
@landuplift.bsky.social, @rebekka-geo.bsky.social and Yucheng Lin. And they told us a lot of interesting facts about GIA. So, go and have a look at it!
