🚨 NEW: Matthew Doyle says he never asked for a job in the Foreign Office

“I have never sought any head of mission [or] ambassador posting. I was never aware of anyone speaking to the FCDO about such a role for me. My desire after leaving No 10 was to stay in UK politics”

He did not do his job

I'm used to Labour getting a raw deal from the media. I expect it.

But what's happening to Starmer is different level. It's more intense, more sustained and more deliberate. Any excuse large or small. Wave after wave.

If they can't pin him with something they want him to quit out of exhaustion.

It's the sheer vitriol and visceral hatred that I don't understand. It feels engineered. Sure he's made mistakes and I disagree with many of the policies but I believe he's done well on the international stage, particularly keeping us out of Trump's Iran war.

FTLOG Sir, having sat through this whole debacle this afternoon, the only one who have let constituents down today are the oposition and your good self. This was a pointless debate taking time away from our government governing and focusing on things that really matter to us 😏

If Lib Dems hadn’t empowered Conservatives to Government in 2010 we wouldn’t have had a ruinous Brexit, would still be in the EU and therefore allied with the EU nations against Trump, but yeah Starmer🤷‍♀️

Labour's four-step plan to tackle knife crime will halve knife crime in a decade.

Through our steps: Support, stop, police, end - together we can do this.

Our UK Labour Government is fixing the energy market to deliver lower bills and long-term security for families across #Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Today, we are breaking the link between gas and electricity prices, ensuring global gas spikes will no longer dictate the bills you pay.

This is pitiful stuff from the BBC, once a news reporting organisation with an impeccable reputation. Until Nandy grows a backbone and sacks Gibb, the BBC will retain its present reputation as being purely a mouthpiece for the Tories and the Reform Ltd company. 8/8

to a version of the Foreign Affairs Committee as described by Zeffman in some universe but it sure wasn't this one. I watched and recorded the entire session and Zeffman's column may as well have been written by BadEnoch such was its desperate bias. 2/8

Olly Robbins's revelations are a dangerous moment for Keir Starmer Drawing a line under Lord Mandelson's appointment is proving impossible for the prime minister.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Is Henry Zeffman, the chief political correspondent of the BBC Politics team, in the pay of the Tory party or is he simply following the orders of his boss Robbie Gibb? There probably has been a version of the evidence given by a version of Robbins ... 1/8

Of course it is survivable. What a load of media nonsense. Guardian not accurate on facts. There was no lying. Get out of media Westminster bubble and start to investigate things that matter. People just want delivery. Judge Labour on that. And look more carefully at the other parties.

FFS, how about reporting on what the government is doing to get this country back on its feet after 14 years of Tory mismanagement. The majority of the general public is not interested in this story.

So in the end, if you don't like Starmer, you think he should go.
If you do, you think he should stay.
What has changed?
On & forward...
I want Starmer & the Govt to put as much right as is possible after the Tory (& LibDems) 14 year sh*t show.
In 2029, if you still don't like him, vote accordingly.

The public don't know the detail of how the system of Govt works. The news media have whipped up a non-story to bring down the PM. That's the basis of this media circus. PM's rely totally on their officials to brief them & carry out Govt policy. PM's do not do detail. They've got too much to do.
