GitHub - openai/openai-cookbook: Examples and guides for using the OpenAI API Examples and guides for using the OpenAI API. Contribute to openai/openai-cookbook development by creating an account on GitHub.

OpenAI Cookbook has a great section on preparing docs for LLM ingestion under Retrieval-Augmented Generation. It’s a helpful guide if you’re building tools that rely on accurate AI responses.

Use clear headings, short focused sections, and write so each part can stand on its own. Think about how someone might need to find and understand one small chunk of your content without all the context.

If you're still optimizing content for Google, you're already behind.

Not all AI content is bad. You just have to know how to use it properly. I used ChatGPT to generate all the content on Vashon-Maury.com and the site dominates in the search results.

My latest creation... well, my Mare did the work but I picked the daddy and made sure everything went smoothly.

I think we should call what we do "Research Marketing"... not SEO, not AIO, certainly not AEO.

I very much try to avoid them at all costs.

I grow a lot of lettuce and just eat salads for a few weeks. The little tiny slugs that are nearly dime size, like the leaf lettuce. I ate one once by accident and my mouth went numb for a few hours. That's why I soak all my lettuce in salt water for a few minutes before eating.

Some folks tried the beer in a cup method, but I tried that and it didn't work. I live on an island in the Pacific Northwest so slugs are the absolute worst here.

Blogs don't necessarily have to be about ranking either. I say to have a strategy of SEO content once a week or once every two weeks, and seed in-between with fun or educational topics that don't necessarily focus on keywords but will drive interest in the socials.

The problem is that they eventually find their way up the raised beds. I lined my beds with copper tape, which seemed to help, but I still got slugs... just not as many.
Breaking up egg shells (not too fine) and making a circle around the plants helps. Slugs don't like the sharp edges.

I had a boss get on me for using the tongue out emoji with a coworker. I asked if the coworker complained, to which she said "No"... 🤷🏼‍♀️

Are you referring to the time the Hotel's heat went out during EmMeCon? 😝
Their solution was to bring us blankets.

I have other examples saved on a Google Drive. From using a Flip camera in the early days to the Logitech webcam on Livestream to fancy multiple camera angles later.

We used a combo of Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to encourage engagement across the socials, then had a Livestream with a chat that had someone monitoring it full time.

I had all the sessions recorded with multiple cameras as well, so people were able to get access to the edited recordings.

I was able to do hybrid events back in 2008, so I'm sure it would go well now that the technology is better.

I used to run conferences and did this very thing. What I changed was 1) No agencies and no pitches 2) Speakers with egos were left at the door (people with egos in general were left at the door) 3) really cool locations like Hawaii 4) More networking activities and less speakers on stage.
