We've got Dr Bike sorted for bike repairs, and we'll be running workshops through out the day on how to mend punctures, rim brake repairs and even doing some bike painting as part of supporting some free bike rental in Reading.
We had a walk round and chat with one of the UoR Community Festival organisers and are so excited by what they've got running this year at the festival! It's incredible to get to be part of community events like this!

It was a chilly, but beautifully frosty ride across the uni campus for us
Given the limited resources this kind of disproportionate policing is a dereliction of duty. 2023 saw 493 pedestrians & cyclist fatalities, none of which involved an e-scooter.
There’s new more secure bike parking appearing in #rdg from @readingcouncil.bsky.social a unexpected benefit is that they make your bike more stable when it’s locked. Making getting a child on and off a bike seat much easier! We’ll share some pictures later.
Focusing on the bikes is an easy distraction from the real problem: Lack of safe infrastructure for cyclists. Drivers of cars are cause thousands of deaths - pedestrian, cyclist and other car users. Yet @thamesvalleypolice.bsky.social seem to prefer targeting people using scooters and bikes.

Santa on a triplet cycle

Just 58% of UK cyclists felt that our cycle lanes are well maintained compared to an avg of 75% for other surveyed nations.
