Just went back to check my masters thesis that I wrote 10 years ago, since it's the oldest thing that I have published (also good lord that was a while ago).

...not even a full two sentences into that 70-page document before I use two of them. Sigh.

It's incredible I've have these opportunities to build community with students, especially those who are BIPOC, first-gen, trans/queer, neurodivergent, & more. But it's not some unattainable thing; it's something we have power to engage in despite this country's BS. And that feels worth saying (4/4)

I think that, too often, we get lost in experiences of marginalization and the despair/loss connected to it—which, don't get me wrong, it's *SO* important to feel those & to not ignore them. But I also think we forget we have power, too. Especially for those of us at higher levels of academia (3/4)

Thinking on this after a great convo with some BSW & MSW students this AM re: institutional responses to the current administration. It's wild how much these students embody love & community & are willing to fight for one another in the face of institutional silence. But they shouldn't have to (2/4)
